There was a point where everything Doug Collins said made me cringe. And people still insist he's a great analyst of the game. No, he's not. He's a master of making the obvious sound complicated.

Ruz, you are so spot on. He's been terrible this season. I used to like him when he helped call games between coaching stints. But now he's completely unwatchable as an "analyst".

We're winning tonight. Lock of the century.

Okay photoshoppers, I want to see some really strong efforts with Ted, EG, and the Wizards logo after we win tonight.

The Celtics played the Heat down to the wire so not any game is a given.

Hopefully they have found a program that is working for Nene. But 35 mins a game over several games is pushing it regarding Nene so we need these other two.

As I have said, Ves can score if they get him the ball in scoring positions. He isn't Kevin. He doesn't generate much offense on his own. But with the right passes, Ves can finish.

And this one was even more encouraging. Because he came from Beal. Beal has not looked to get Ves this kind of open look. Its usually Trevor A or Webster Wall or Nene. There is no reason Ves can't get 6-10 pts / 22min in momentum shifting ways.

Through in his improving defense, rebounds, steals and some blocks and I think he can do his job out there resting Nene and Gortat. You want more offense but more unsound decisions, you turn to Kevin.

There are good signs coming from Vesely and Veeny. Vesely's FG % in Nov - 46%, Dec - 52.2%, Jan - 64.7% and with higher volume. His to's have gone way down, and his blocks have increased significantly.

Seraphin's minutes have varied wildly, but his last 2 games that he played more than a minute were his 2 best of the season - and both excellent performances.

We still don't know what we'll get out of either from game to game, but now there's legitimate hope where there wasn't before, imo. Of course, we've been here before only to be let down.

Not sure I would say legit hope where there wasn't before. I always felt Ves could score more if they got him the ball where he scores. He is a good finisher. Some teams would view that as an asset and exploit it. That hasn't been the case with the Wizards because there are always 4 other players out there looking for their shot and they have the ball in their hands. Beal looked great passing up shots for assists last game and that helped the offense run more smoothly. For a team that shoots to many long 2, it sucks they don't feed the Ves more often for close shots and dunks.

Ves with the starters and the starters actually looking to get him easy buckets is something I felt could work. Now if he could only tackle his free throw shooting problem.

Its getting beyond ridiculous.

He would be viewed very differently as a player if he was hitting 70% from the line.

and I bet anything that they go to Phoenix and win. Then probably get over .500 with Utah because no home pressure. Embarrassing

I put this in the other thread and Ill put it here:

Do you know the thing I dislike the most about our team right now? Its the way they are handling the .500 talk. Every time I read an interview, I get less confident that they are going to get over it, no matter who we play. They dont own it. They run from it. All of them talk scared and say they dont want to hear about it. Why not? Thats why they keep losing. You have to talk about it and own it.

People tell the media and teammates to not talk about things when things are going well. Like if you have a long FT streak or something like that. Thats the kinda things you dont talk about. Not bad things. I mean Lebron is in the press right now for having KD"s stats sent to him. He's not running from it. He's owning it to make him better. As soon as they start attacking the .500 talk, then they will win and get over it. They are instead running from it like cowards and playing scared, tight, or doing things that arent normal.

Right now its the elephant in the room. Everyone knows about it but no one wants to talk about it. Its stupid and weak. Own it and attack it, idiots. Where is the vetran leadership? I dont wanna hear a youngin like Beal saying not to talk about it. I want to hear a vet say we are getting over .500 tonight. Watch. Thats what I want to hear. If this were Kobe he would tell the media that .500 can kiss his ass and they will be over it soon enough

This thread was created on Jan 20, less than 2 weeks ago. Since then the Wizards have had 3 chances to go over .500 and lost all three games.

Anyone got any idea on how to get the Wizards over the hump?

Anyone want to sacrifice chickens or something?
