Just thinking about the comparisons we get to the Spurs because of our coach and GM and their relationship to the Spurs. And Yeah, it's easy to say but the question is, how true is it that when Healthy, we are Spurs East or the Poor man's Spurs? Well, Let's see I will be using the 2004 Spurs for comparison:
Horf = Duncan.
Sap = ?
Korver = Ginobili
DMCthealltimegreat = Bowen.
Teague = Parker
Pero = Nesterovich
Mack = Udrih
These are all poor man comparisons. Horf in no way does anything like 2004 Duncan did. Korver is great but doesn't bring the skillset of Ginobili. Teague is going to have to drive a lot more to reach the level of Parker. DMC is a really good defender, but has nothing on Bruce Bowen.
However, even in our poor man comparison, the blueprint is there. The Spurs won the title with Nesterovich at Center. Maybe the feeling is that we don't really need a top flight Center to win games. Maybe Pero was Ferry's answer. I hope not, but maybe he was. Maybe Korver is more like the Brent Barry and less of the Ginobili and this offseason we will find a guy who can be our Ginobili .

So, you're saying our players are nothing nothing like the Spurs.
But we do play the same system.

My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

Not exactly. I think our players are like the spurs, just not to the same level. Duncan is Duncan. And While Horf has a High Post game and rebounds very well, he still lacks the passing and drives.
Teague and Parker are actually very close. Especially 2004 parker...

The funny thing is that Teague gets to the line a lot more.
Korver = Barry. Pretty much dead on .
We just don't have anybody who has Ginobili's ability and they didn't have anybody with Sap's ability.
