I'm still floored by Giannis potentially being a keeper piece. He's a foundational piece and everything the team does for the rest of the season needs to be done through that lens.

Yeah I basically have to chalk that up to GM-speak regarding a green 19 year old who they don't want to put even more pressure on. I have to. For my sanity.

We are **** if Hammond and Drew are back.

Gersson Rosas and Ettore Messina need to be brought in immediately as GM/Coach.

Woelfel tonight on WSSP said he talked with a couple Bucks officials who think the team can be back competing quickly. Once they get the stud in June, they've got their core of Henson, Knight, Giannis and draft pick.

Q. You selected Antetokounmpo with the 15th pick in last year's draft, taking a chance on the youngest player in the draft, a raw talent from Greece. He has moved into the starting lineup at just 19 years old. Are you happy with your selection?

A. We're really excited. We talked before the season started that we wanted to expose him (to the league) but not overexpose him. We didn't want him to lose confidence and have those around him lose confidence in him. Nearing the end of the exhibition season we looked at our stats and realized he was one of our leading scorers, he was one of our leading rebounders. He was our leading shot blocker. He was leading us in free throws attempted.

Is this how things are evaluated in the FO? That's just such a weird quote. You'd think he'd say something like "he was one of our best players on the floor" or "he showed us a lot"...but he talks about picking up a stat sheet and making a decision solely off that. Is that how playing time is determined? Teh statz? What the hell?

I asked Hammond during Fear the Deer his thoughts on Adjusted Plus Minus. I believe this is an exact quote: "The problem with adjusted plus/minus is you can make it say whatever you want".

And that's dangerous.

Then Gery said later that another front office guy told him that they realize they can't sign bad attitude players like Stephen Jackson, Maggette, Drew Gooden anymore.

Again, the front office is a cluster ****.

The fact that Knight is considered part of the core actually concerns me more than the quick rebuild aspect of it.

Go to about 18:30 in. The nuance of that ONE PART of this subset, the strong-side screen, with the cut off the switch or the open three, is lightyears ahead of what Drew runs.

AND THIS AVAILABLE, FOR FREE, ONLINE. ANYONE WITH AN INTERNET CONNECTION has access to a wrinkle of a set several orders of magnitude more advanced than what Drew runs, and as Messina tells it, it's a very basic action.

I hate how we're a franchise stuck chasing batting average while the rest of baseball is getting wise to on base percentage. Oakland's already evolved to fly-ball, switch-hitting, multi-position players. Imagine how far behind we'll be once the Spurs and Rockets evolve.

If you have even the slightest of chance that your 6'10" and still growing rookie is a point guard, YOU PLAY HIM AT THE POINT. How, with only 8 wins, can this organization lack not just the imagination but the ambition to try out a future seven-footer at point guard? Because there's never been one before? Since when is that an excuse?

It's made even more appalling by their belief that Brandon Knight is a point guard. It's incomprehensible.

Bucks season slogan should be - "Accidentally on Purpose".

He says some good things and not so good things. I'm sure if we had some kinda hard nosed reporter we'd get more out of him, pressure him more.

The one thing I'd like to know is how patient will the front office be. It's all good saying right now when you've put together a terrible roster, that they'll build though the draft etc. When push comes to shove and given the history of the franchise, I can't see them waiting around too much longer before they're pushing for the playoffs again and making stupid decisions.

I had 'em at 17 wins before the season started. Probably going to be less than that.

To be fair, A LOT of people around here thought the same thing.
