Pistons players in All-Star weekend

Post#1 » by joseph mamah » Fri Jan 24, 2014 3:55 am

well, I doubt we're getting anyone in the game itself , but has anybody heard about any of our guys getting Dunk Contest, 3 Point Shootout or Skills Contest invites. I did a Google search but couldn't really find any info on it. im hoping Dre gets in the dunk contest, it'd be nice to have something to root for this year.

Dre starts at 0:41.

Dre will be in the sophmore game. He should be in the dunk contest too though, and there's still a chance he gets voted into the real game.

I know he's on a losing team, but every team in the east is a losing team lol. What other frontcourt guys have had better seasons? I can't really think of any. He's leading the East in double-doubles that has to count for something among the coach's, when voting for frontcourt players.

lol @ our guys being in the 3 pt shootout

the more I think about, you might be right. Noah, Hibs and Bosh are the only healthy ones off the top of my head that are definitely ahead of him in the pecking order. (not sure what Lebrons classified as)

I really want to see JSmooooooove for the 3 point contest.

To see how many times he can make a Pistons fan cry.

Drummond isn't getting into the game and I think he's put on too much weight for the dunk contest. Chauncey or CV might do alright in the 3-point contest, Jennings could do well in the skills challenge but they usually only take good PG's for that.

KCP and Dre should be in the Rookies v sophomores game and Tony Mitchell should be in the dunk contest.

He does seem like he's lost athleticism compared to last year. I notice it when a guy throws a hook shot up over him. Last year he would swat those across the court. Maybe he does need to drop some weight or something.

^ he can still get up, and for me its more timing and hand eye coordination than just pure leaping ability that seperates the guys that win and the guys that just go out there and make a fool out of themselves.

I didn't mean it like that lol, he's just filling out but that's why he needs to learn how to play because his athleticism won't be what he was coming out of college, he's just too big for all that. To be honest Drummond has been awful this year, he's grabbing rebounds that Monroe and Smith would have gotten anyway, he's nearly useless on offense and his defense is a joke to this point. I'm not growing impatient or anything because I know he's our only shot to become a contender, just pointing out that he certainly doesn't deserve all-star consideration yet.

I know he can still get up but nobody else has noticed or is thinking he doesn't look like he can get up as high.

Drummond might not even be in my top 5 choices for centers in the dunk contest.

I agree, but Dre has been getting a little love around the league, and the NBA likes to showcase its young talent, so he may get in by default. there really isn't that many healthy, good, established bigs in the East this year.

SF's count as bigs in the all-star game now, the east actually has 3 of them starting in LeBron, George and Melo.

Drummond's rookie season has now become a myth lol. He is every bit we athletic as he was last year. He was just hyped to godly proportions may-October.

Just as athletic I suppose but he doesn't have the same elevation because of the extra weight, he still gets up there for sure but not how he did last year, it's obvious if you watch him play.
