2014 Official Suns Free Agent/Trade/Transaction Thread

No reason to gut our team for a in-season trade unless you are getting a proven winner. Love has yet to prove he can take a team to the promise land (playoffs). There are a few free agents we can go after this summer to try to push us into the top tier of teams. That includes

LeBron
Dirk
Bosh
Melo
Deng

There is also a second tier of players where we might be able to pick up two of them and have a starter quality bench.

It's a travesty that Tucker didn't even make this list.

Deng is not a player that is a superstar. He is not a game changer more like a Shawn Marion type of role(prime days). Dirk is slowing down. Been watching the Mavs lately. He doesn't take over games anymore. Melo hasn't done anything but score. Lebron and phx is not the bright lights big city so that's not happening. So bosh is what is left.

As far as tucker, many people over value him here. Other nba teams see him for what he is. That's a nice bench player( Matt Barnes type player). Will bounce around the league a few more years and have an average a salary of around 2-3 million.

T-Wolves are 11th in the West - #12 pick - protected

Wolves are a 1/2 game from being #14, unprotected. I just glanced at the expanded standings and counted, but looks like Charlotte and Brooklyn are worse playoff teams than Wash so... NOT 15. At least not yet.

Also I do think it is getting to the point where separating the morrii is coming. Marcus is almost non existent. It's time for them to stop being babied. I think the only players the suns won't trade is Bledsoe, dragic, and Len. Everyone else is tradable with the right deal.

I absolutely loathe Melo, but if, and its a massive if, he buys into the team 1st mentality, hustles on D, and plays McDornacek ball, it could very well work. I mean Gerald Green has a green light FFS, and Melo, even with his warts, is A LOT better than Green.

I don't hate LeBron, but I'm not really a fan either, and I don't have any desire to see him as a Sun. I know that places me in a very small minority, and I'm not trying to convince anyone that they shouldn't want LeBron, I'm just saying that's not something I'm hoping for or would be too giddy to see happen.

Would it have been about one player if we had won in '92? No, it still takes a team to win. Look, I hate LeBron as much as the next guy but you replace PJ Tucker with him and we're instantly in the mix. The thing is whoever wins it all is going to have a special player or two.

You mean '93 with Barkley? No, it wouldn't have been just about Barkley. I'm not trying to be anti-star. When Detroit, when Houston, and when Dallas won, all the times San Antonio has won, even when Shaq and Kobe we're doing their thing, it was about those franchises. I'm all for establishing the Suns as a franchise that wins and contends for championships, and having a team that gets remembered. Being a stop on the LeBron legacy tour doesn't appeal to me.

It was difficult watching Tom Penn embarrass himself on Sportscenter right now. Okafor, Len, Morris, three 1st's for Melo? That was after his attempt of Bledsoe and three picks failed on the trade machine. Even the female anchor watching was embarrassed.

Yeah they had him on Burns & Gambo the day it was revealed Bledsoe was having surgery. He said that Minnesota would never ever trade Kevin Love. We all know it's not true. All Kevin Love has to say is simply, "I'm not resigning here in 2015."

He should not be dealt first thing mainly because if the backcourt of Bledsoe and Dragic is succeding why break it apart, second Dragic is having an all star type year you dont want to let him go just like they traded him to Houston and lastly Bledsoe and Dragic feed off each other. I would really love to see Thaddeus Young in a Sund jersey. Rumor had it that Philly wants the Morris Brothers and first round pick. You cant break them apart either. Suns have a bright future but a big name like Melo or Love would make things brighter

Yes im sure the Suns are really looking for a guy like Young whos talented and still young. Ive heard Evan Turner im some trade talks for Phx too. Suns should trade their pick they can get a proven player not someone theyre unsure about
