I was looking for a place to write about Falcao's injury and how that will affect Colombias chances so I guess we can talk about that here as well as any other World Cup topics.

Ahhh no, I hate this news about Falcao, the dude is one of my favorite players and I was really looking forward to watching him and Columbia at the World Cup this summer. Hopefully Colombia will have enough talent with Martinez and Rodriguez leading the charge this summer to at least get out of the group.

It's a big blow for Colombia but I think they are stacked up front so the damage isn't too great. But still, I really wanted to see Falcao in the WC.

Colombia will be fine. If we fail, it will not due to Falcao. We still have a lot of question marks defensively and at DM, but our keeper is pretty good as well as Zuniga and Armero and we boast an array of attacking players in James, Guarin, Cuadrado, Ibarbo, Bacca Jackson, Muriel, Ramos, etc. Even a guy like Quintero who is on the bench at Porto can come in and change the game with some long distance shots and moments of brilliance.

I think people don't understand just how good James Rodriguez is. He is a brilliant play maker and such a different maker because he leaves his all on the field. He is not a superstar like Isco or Gotze, but he is every bit as good IMO. Cuadrado is also like to cause havoc on defenses that are not used to a player of his dribbling abilities.

The Falcao news is more depressing to me because of what he represents for us. He's put Colombia in the map and has opened the doors for present and future generations, brought credibility to Colombian soccer, and lead us to our first world cup in 16 years. I also know what playing in the world cup means to him and it would suck if he doesn't get to play. Especially since he'll be 32 next time up. He is a great player, but a much better person. It really is heartbreaking for Colombians to hear these news.

But again, football wise, we will be fine. Jackson is a very similar player and although not as talented, we should still be able to create enough goals and dominate possession in most games to give us a chance to win. I thought we could reach the quarters before the injury and I still think we can.

Spains my team, but I'm rooting for Messi/Argentina to win. Keep in mind that no european team has ever won a world cup in the Americas iirc.

I don't see Germany winning. I think its either Brazil, Argentina and then Spain and Germany.

Portugal isn't doing anything imo. i think they could easily falter and not make the second round.

I also hope for U.S to make some noise, but I'm not holding my breath.

I hope Italy wins the group and England finishes 2nd. No more Uruguay for me. Suarez is just too dangerous for my taste lol.

Any fan interested in seeing the final Germany game: mark that Saturday, July 12th in Brasilia.

In Jogi Löw we trust... to reach the Third Place Match

I want Turkey to win it all.

Oh well they finished fourth in a group with Romania, Hungary, Estonia, Andorra and Netherlands.

at least they can't qualify to the tournament that they are not going to win unlike Germany who has been winning all the tournaments when it comes to words and hopes but always fail to do so.

Not qualify definitely makes you better than losing to the eventual champs in the semifinals or finals...This is why you know nothing about winning massimo. But it's ok, it's been a while for ya.

Between the sweetheart draw and the embarrassment of riches upfront, Colombia should be okay for the group stage without Falcao.

Turkey could be quite good soon. It's already their strongest area but they've got a very promising group of midfielders coming through. Ozyakup, Calhanoglu, and the kid with the afro from the U20 World Cup are all good.

Sure. As a citizen of the biggest loser country in football just gave us a speech.

Sure master, you guys know how to win. That's why you've won every single tournament since 1994.

Ted: wrong. Those guys are just average.
