First trade you've ever proposed thats made any sort of sense.
We get zero value for Josh, from a value perspective we get nothing but we get rid of him & that contract & focus back on Monroe/Drummond.
So yes, I would give Josh away for nothing.

Terrence Jones is a great young F prospect and at this point, I doubt Houston trades him for Smith considering that Jones is playing at a higher level than Josh is and is on a rookie contract.
Jones is averaging 17 points and 11 boards this month. He's practically untouchable at this point. That being said- I'd do this trade without Jone's inclusion. If we get Gallo back for next season he is the perfect SF for this team.

This.
it's way too good for detroit.
Jones is proving to be a solid young PF and he's cheap, twhy trade him for an overpaid, inconsistent idiot like Smith??

Man, I would love to have Jeremy Lin running point for this team though...
PnR maestro that guy is and what he did in NY and whenever Harden was down for HOU. Such a solid player.

I wanted to say if I had to take either Jones or Smith today I would take Jones in a NY min but I was trying to be nice.

I agree with those who feel Jones is way too valuable for inclusion, so how about swapping him with Motiejunas (who has apparently been allowed to look for a trade for himself)?
Funny thing about this deal, too — we'd get Gallo for next year (who, granted, is a risk coming off the injury, but would be perfect for us at SF long term), and yet I don't really think it's a "tanking" move for us. Truthfully, removing Smith and focusing the offense on Monroe would be a classic case of addition by subtraction and give us a better shot at making the playoffs in the weak East this year.

With D'Antoni as coach, Jennings would be seen like an All-Star no doubt. He's a trainer who plays very offensive game and he don't care about defense, I think he is the perfect trainer to develops his talent. But Lin is horrible on defense like Jennings.

Re: HOU | DEN | DET JSmoove on the move idea
The only problem that Lin has is ISO situations in defending. Otherwise, his PnR defense (which is usually what kills us) is the definition of average and his spot up shooting defense is okay as well. Jennings does about the same or worse, especially in spot up shooting defense (since he doesn't know how to help 1 pass away properly) and he's a lot worse when he's chasing his man off screens and cuts.paQo the BAWSER wrote:DBC10 wrote:Man, I would love to have Jeremy Lin running point for this team though...

Their synergy stats on D is pretty similar though in a lot of same situations. I would take Lin based on offensive potential and not likely to chuck as well. Plus, this is basically his second full season as a NBA player and he has a ton more room to grow in offense and defense.

I would take Lin too, but you know that doesn't solve our problems... And Jennings has got an incredible talent, but he's a lazy player and doesn't know how to use it. The problem, the BIG problem of this team, is the coach. With a good coach Smith would mean an awesome inside game rotation, not a 35 minutes SF who can't shoot, with a good coach every play would start with Monroe, with a good coach Jennings wouldn't have the ball all the possession and maybe we would have a good team ball movement.

Re: HOU | DEN | DET JSmoove on the move idea
Lin went to Harvard while Jennings couldn't even get into college if I remember correctly, still sounds like he's in junior high actually, #1 reason I would take Lin over Jennings. They are basically the same player, Lin has been more efficient because he gets more open looks and the floor is always spread out great for him. Lin is also quite a bit bigger than Jennings, like 2 or 3 inches taller and 30+lbs heavier.
