Anyone that thinks Hayes is scrub is a stat sheet creep who doesn't understand true in game impact. He's a defensive specialist so when asked to do more than he should he looks bad but dude is an elite post defender. I'm sure Kings fans respect him more now that he's gone and Cousins is out. Cousins learned a lot from him I think. Maybe one thing that Cousins needs to rely on less in fact. Hayes is a master at swatting down at the ball when a post player is making his move, but he has to due to his size, Cousins is now proficient doing the same thing but he doesn't need it as much as Hayes because Cousins has serious length. Cousins picks up at least one unnecessary foul a game using that move. Hayes will pick up an occasional foul doing it to but his hand eye coordination is on par with Ron Artest back in the day. They just know how to rip the ball as a natural talent.

Hayes isn't really a good rebounder by the numbers most nights. He's a solid passer and a great post defender. Also a great pick and roll defender when his coach lets him play it straight up without doubling. Just a hard hedge and retreat back to his man.

Yeah he was an excellent post defender for us. He is a decent rebounder in that he will do well positionally vs his man, and is like a house to move. Chuck can move the ball well, and set decent screens too. Chuck is not a great team defender, just do to his height.

Of all the guys we traded he is the most valuable.

He has a role, and does it well.

You can count on Chuck to bring that even if he gets 5 DNP coaches decisions before going back on to the court.

No Id like to think Patterson is.... Patterson has been playing with high IQ and is really making strides in Toronto! He reminds us of a better Ed Davis and thats really good for our grieving period!
