Biggest What If's In Suns History

Post#1 » by DRK » Mon Jan 27, 2014 2:35 am

Allright Allright Allright,

I know you're probably thinking this is another "what if we kept Rondo/Deng etc." thread.

WRONG

This thread is to celebrate(?)/commemerate(?).... just sigh in relief at moves that we didnt make, but were rumoured to. This thread is to do gleam and gloat at the poor team that got signed/traded for our target, but turned out for the worst. This thread is for us Suns fans to sit back and think, "Whew, we dodged that bullet!"

Heres a few of mine in recent history:

-What if we signed Raymond Fatty Felton instead of Dragic.

-What if we went through with the Jared Dudley for Rudy Gay Trade?

-What if we never unloaded Hedo Turkoglu?

Got any more? Post away!

What if Joe Johnson didn't smash his face in 04/05 and missed the first two spurs games.

What if Cedric Ceballos didn't hurt his foot in the 93 WCF? Would we have beaten the Bulls in the finals?

What if Robert Horry didn't hip check Nash? What if Amare and Boris didn't come off the bench?

What if Richard Dumas could keep his nose clean?

What if Joe Klein ddn't wipe out Danny Manning's ACL in practice?

What if Antonio McDyess didn't go running back to the McNuggests?

What if we won the coin flip for Kareem Abdul Jabbar?

What if Kobe didn't shoot an airball that landed in the lap of Metta World Peace?

What if Eric Bledsoe didn't hurt his knee in 13/14?

What if we signed Joe Johnson?

Too damn many f-ed up what if scenarios for Suns fans

Methinks you didn't read DRK's intention for this thread ya big negative nancy!

I think the biggest "phew" moment of late was having New Orleans match Eric Gordon's contract, also vice versa with NY signing Stoudemire and us NOT matching.

What if nash resigned with us rather than singing with the lakers? It would've prolonged the rebuild/retool and we wouldn't be as good today.

What if McD never traded away Brown and release Beasley?

Beas is playing pretty well right now. Sure his contract was bad, but I think a coach like Hornacek could have helped him greatly.

The Gordon deal immediately comes to mind..

What if we kept Nash?

(Not within the outlined parameters, but this is the only one that matters IMO.) What if we win the coin-flip...

What if we gave amare 100 million over 5 lolzors

What if we followed through on the amare for curry trade?

What if we hadn't fired terry porter?

What if god didn't tell john salmons not to sign in phoenix?

What if we managed to recruit out number 1 target of Kobe in the same offseason we got Nash?

I think the championship culture and personnel in Miami are mainly why Beasley has been solid for them. I don't know how well he would do in a "rebuilding year" and with a rookie coach in Horny, albeit a good one. I guess Green has done well under Hornacek, but that doesn't mean it could translate to Beasley. His off court issues were also a major distraction. They're minerals, Marie!!!

Wasnt it GSW who pulled out on the agreed trade of Amare for the 1st rounder?

What if the Suns don't trade third guard Steve Nash for the Mavs' pick?

What if the Suns don't tank the 03-04 season by trading Marbs and Penny?

What if Raja doesn't clotheslines Kobe?

What if Tim Thomas wasn't singed because he was a team cancer and lazy?

What if Josh Childress never injuried his finger?

What if Mike D actually played Jalen Rose/Jumaine Jones/etc?

What if I was surprised by Sean Marks?

What if Marcin Gortat showed up vs the Jazz when it mattered?

What if the Suns put more purple to their court and home jerseys?

What if Suns never traded for Jim Jackson in 04-05 when JJ went down?

What if the late Suns run in Game 6 Vs Lakers was enough to force a game 7 in LA in WCF's?

What if Michael Beasley lived up to his potential last year in Phoenix?

What if Marion didn't go ghost in the playoffs?

What if Shaq did in fact get us our first ring like he promised?

What if Lebron signs in Phoenix in 2014?

I still feel insulted by this scenario. I don't know how hard Blanks was pushing for Felton, but just the notion makes me want to puke, even if Goran was not an option.

What if we never traded Marion for Shaq?

What if nobody got suspended, and we went on to beat the Cavs in the finals?

What if we never brought Dragic back?

What if we had drafted Kahwi Leonard?

What if D'Antoni never left for New York?

What if hired Dan Majerle as our new HC?
