Iman looks like a player who has lost his way. He's had two big games this season, before that he made noise in like 2 games in the playoffs against Indiana.

Bargs is a bum.

Some news on the Monroe front.

Hi Steve…
Are you hearing anything about the Pistons in the trade market? Coaching replacement? GM replacement? or Are they going to ride this out this year?

Steve Kyler
Only thing I am hearing is MASSIVE denials about moving Greg Monroe. So I read that as Greg Monroe better pack :)

The Pistons just hired Mo Cheeks, so I doubt he’s fired mid-season and Joe Dumars isn’t going anywhere mid-season either. The off-season may be a different story, but if you look at Portland… they went through the same thing last year and turned it around impressively this year.
I think the situations and talent are different, but you have to give things time to come together, especially with so many young guys and guys with conflicting agendas.

Steve Kyler: I know Washington is interested in Greg… however I have been told aggressively that Detroit is not open to it. So short answer is no. Does that change at the trade deadline? Maybe.

So who knows what's going on. Either they are putting word out that they are not trading him, and are going to wait up until the 11th hour to coax the best offers out of teams....or, they are really not trading him.

However, Adrian Woj was on 105.1 just now and he said he's hearing that the Pistons have no plans of paying Monroe max money or anything close to max money. He also said they aren't planning on letting another team steal him for nothing either, and that he knows of other teams that will be interested in him this summer in FA. So unless they wait to do a sign and trade this summer with one of those teams (which would greatly limit their options), I would guess that they are going to trade him now, and these denials are just negotiation ploys.

Woj also said that Cheeks is only on a 2 yr contract. If that's true then he's definitely done after this year.

If Monroe is getting dealt then the Pistons would never admit to it. We already seen that the Rumors were upsetting Moose so they won't let it get out. Honestly all Dumars trades are out of nowhere.

paQo the BAWSER wrote:Why you guys are seeing Smith like the devil (is nearly, I know), but are you keeping Jennings in our roster? I mean, Smith is a chucker, but can play some D (less playing as SF), but Jennings is a ball-hogging chucker who can't play pick n roll, who doesn't look to the post (except to Smith), and he's one of the worst perimeter defenders of the nba...

Both guys clearly have their warts. But Smith is arguably redundant and expensive. Jennings is less expensive and *hopefully* can be coached since he is young... that is if we had a coach...

I think right now it's a case of everybody being displeased with the current state of the Pistons. Part of people's ire will focus on the coach who deserves it. Next it will go to the players who are most noticeably sticking out in people's minds. If Smith were gone (or Monroe in some people's viewpoint) then this frustration would naturally fall on Jennings next.

sure would be nice to have the point guard position open, so we could make a run at Lowry.

They may go for Stuckey & Jennings for Lowry & Hayes (expires after next year)... I just want Jennings gone... addition by subtraction.

Its important to keep in mind that Jennings is only signed for 2 more years, and even if they wanted to keep him longterm, there is no guarantee he will resign here. So I would think they will be open to all options involving that position.

I would imagine they want quite a bit for Lowry, he's unlikely to sign with Toronto in the summer but they should still be able to get something decent for him. Point being, they would probably prefer to let his deal expire than take back Jennings. One way we might be able to get him would be Stuckey and CV for Lowry and Fields, I don't see us being able to get rid of Jennings though so we would be stuck with both and then Lowry might not even sign with us during the summer anyway so trading for him probably isn't an ideal option.

Pistons should just trade Josh Smith for Ben Gordon and get it over with. Charlotte is making a strong playoff run and really need a better PF while Pistons get cap relief in Gordon for this offseason Free Agent crop.

I could be wrong, but wasn't it a 1st round draft pick.

Fields' contract is a noose we don't want around our neck, surely.
It's such a fine line between stupid and clever.

Monroe to Phoenix for Okafor's dead contract and a pick. Throw in Stuckey as well.

Actually nevermind, Phoenix's picks aren't that high......

Funny you bring up Phoenix.

I was just looking over the Suns' roster, and wondering what kind of package we could get for Monroe if he were sent there- as Phoenix could certainly use a low post scorer like Monroe.

Does anyone have the run down of which picks Phoenix owns in the 2014 draft? I believe they have three or four first round picks, I just don't know who's transferring them.

I would be fine with that as long as at least two first round picks came back with that package.

We could trade Monroe for JR Smith. Then we could trade Drummond for Rubio.

We could play with the lineup:

Jennings-Rubio-Jr Smith-Smith-Villanueva. It seems legit.
