KD's averaging 38/6.5/6.5/1 block/1.3 steals @ 58% FG over his last 10 games.

This stat-sheet is getting ridiculous by Durant. and it's only going up as each games goes by.

More importantly, OKC are winning, so it's not like KD is just putting up huge stats which aren't quite good enough to get victories (I know BBall is a team-game, but you get my point. Besides, OKC has a very dangerous team without Westbrook anyway).

I don't know, defensively they are good without Westbrook and Durant, but offensively they are quite limited. Jackson can't to much more offensively that driving staight in line to the rim and finish from close range, Ibaka has a limited game outside of his pop plays, Lamb has closest to a complete offensive game, but passes too many games in blank. Adams doesn't see a lot of minutes consistently, way to hard to find your groove that way. Sefolosha, Fisher and Perkins are negative.

LeBron is coasting and KD is in god mode. The result should be fairly obvious so far.

They are limited on offense some what. That still doesn't mean they aren't a very dangerous team. The record and current win streak is proof of that. It's not like they have been beating the have nots.

I'm not going to overreact and say that KD is now the best player in the league because he's playing at 200% and LeBron at 50%.

But he absolutely deserves the MVP at this point, unless things change dramatically from now until the end of the season it's his already.

One of the best, maybe the best scorer of all time. Closest thing to a 6'11" Jordan.

Agreed, Lebron is coasting (still very - too - efficient and putting up great numbers) but KD deserves it. If Lebron wanted to win another MVP trophee he shouldn't be playing like this and show more grit and passion.

A is Kevin Durant this month. B is Michael Jordan during the best month of his age 25 season. Seriously, let that sink in.

It aint' happening.

It's not a narrative thing either, as has been said Durant clearly deserves it based on his play alone and elevating his team without Westbrook.

The only chance Lebron has is if MIA runs off an extended winning streak like last season and OKC falls off in terms of wins, it would be hard for example to award Durant MVP if MIA has the best record in the league and OKC slips to like 3rd-4th in the West.

Odds of that happening are very low IMO.

I want to see him play a full season without Westbrook just for kicks. I think he can legitimately put up the best statistical season of any NBA player in history. WS/48 is second highest all time right now and that's counting the 2 months he played with Westbrook.

Or something about the 2012 Finals or something about Thabo generally spending more time guarding the other team's best player. The former is completely irrelevant now, nearly two years later, but the former does have a little merit, although it shouldn't completely take away from Durant as a defender.

In other news, Nick Collison continues to lead the league in RAPM.

Apparently he's been the best basketball player in the world for several years now, and yet none of you knuckleheads ever throw him in to the MVP conversation.

I know this is in jest, but I'm sure there's a better backup big in the NBA. Well..I'm sure there is, but I'm not sure I'd take any of them over Collison. He just does so many little things that don't really translate to impressive boxscore numbers. Great thing about him is that, despite already being 33 years old, he has the type of game where he will still be really productive and reliable for another 3-5 years.

Nick Collison is the Altonimbus of the thunder team, without him they have no lift.
