Green, Bass for Ariza, Maynor, Vesley

It's said that Boston really wants to dump salary, so maybe we could even grab a pick from them in the deal too. They have a ton of picks in the next couple years so maybe they'd throw one our way.
Bass gives us that toughness on the inside that we really don't have,... and Green is a good stretch, only signed for 2 more years after this. Might rather grab him than give Ariza a new 4 year deal. Also you know who Jeff Green is really good friends with, that we're gonna have our hopes and dreams set on in 2016... Just a thought.

In other words, trade away what little cap flexibility we have for two mediocre players. No thanks.

For starters, Ariza is a much better player than Green and won't cost more, probably not as much (and is only one year older). And Bass is a PF w/ a career average of @8 boards per 40 minutes -- just what we need...?

Bass would actually fit into our offense since he's good at the midrange 2s. I would still play Booker over Bass because Booker is a much better rebounder.

No clue what ppa means, really hope you aren't going by fantasy stats however. If you go by PER he' 22nd, but all those type of formulas are crap. Beasley and Jeremy Evans are topten in PER, that tells you everything. Webster and Sessions are considered average, I would consider Green as above.

Of course I'm going by fantasy stats. Is there another method for evaluating players?

And thanks for pointing out the two examples that "tells you everything." I was worried about using the logical fallacy of analyzing data to determine how the various stats relate to teams winning and losing. Problem solved!

I"m guessing we've seen the last of Golfer1081 -- maybe he's out trying to fix his slice in the snow? :)

I especially loved his evidence vs. PER being that Beasley and Evans are in the top 10 in PER. Not exactly.

For the record, Beasley ranks 91st this season in PER. We have a choice of Evans -- Tyreke ranks 55th, Jeremy ranks 58th, Reggie ranks 361st.

But maybe golfer meant that Beasley ranks top 10 in PER on the Heat and Evans on the Pelicans/Jazz/Nets. In which case, he'd be correct -- except for Reggie.
