eh, i don't agree with that

yeah, parsens isn't a great athlete. There's a reason he dropped in the draft.

Parsens was a very different college player than McDermott so the comparison is streched but you can see similarities in what McDermott pro game might be like.

Passable defender at the 3 and 4, with most offense coming as an off-ball shooter but with enough additional offensive skills to pressure mismatches.

If you think McDermott is going in the mid first round... I'm not sure you are super happy if that's your upside.

thats not what i was thinking. parsons is a good athlete and a better one than younger mike miller. i dont think parsons and mcdermott are comparable outside of the fact that they can shoot. parsons was not a pure shooter coming out of college though. he was more of a jack of all trades forward.

I have no doubts he will have a nice NBA career, but one thing for sure is that he is an unreal college player.

Not a fan of the guy he is middle of the pack to bottom tier in offensive efficiency when compared to recent SF's who went to college and graduated within the last 5 years despite playing in a mid major most of his career. Don't see him ever being a starter, think he is more likely to be a bust than starter in the NBA.

Wally was physically fit to the point of being cut-up. That is not the case with this guy. He does not really come off of screens like a Kyle Korver. The only role I can clearly see for this guy is 8th man and beyond with a team that has several creators.

Another clutch performance.
The way Dougie use his skills is amazing, he knows how to move and use the geometry of the game for his advantage, so good off the ball movement, I know he deserves to go higher but mygosh I'll love to see him paired with LeBron in the wings of Miami, what a thing of beauty that could be.

Ryan Anderson's the only recent college prospect with such a low steals rate (0.4 per game) to become an elite player in the NBA.

McDermott has remarkably low steals rate at 0.3, and even worse blocks average. The odds are stacked extremely high against him.

I really wish he were a better defender, but I'm a big fan of his offensive skills. I think he could do great things if he goes to the Bobcats. Him alternating with MKG could be great for that team.

Last night at halftime Wally Z himself said that Doug already has much better post skills than Wally EVER had in the NBA. Wally compared Doug's post skills to Kevin McHale. While that might be an exaggeration, Doug should be effective posting up most every small forward in the league, and run most 4s ragged before sealing them and catching passes for layups. Not bad for a superior spot up shooter with passable defense at two positions.
