If we resigned Rondo and Gasol to the max their contracts would be starting somewhere at 18 milish.

I don't think Melo would only be 18 mil unless he took a solid paycut.

Also did you put Shump/THJ at 6 mil combined assuming Shumpert resigns longterm for 5 mil a year?

We have a 2014 pick???????? lol.

The question was does Boston consider that trade? If so then you have to move Chandler and aquire that pick.

Shump has an option in 2015 (qualifying offer)... If doesnt want to wait one extra year for a champ contention and longer/bigger contract, then he can GTFO :)

thats too much for Rondo... we can wait one season and sing him as FA!!

Rondo is getting 10-12M a season if Im not wrong... so If Melo takes a paycut (if he really wants to win here), then we can sign easily another big contract for a star that would make us instant contender!!

Not to forget we have a pick in 2015... If we tank properly than we can chose between at least 5 really great players in a making: Jahlil Okafor, Emmanuel Mudiay, Cliff Alexander, Jabari Bird, Stanley Johnson, Wayne Selden

The knicks need a upgrade at the PG position and Lowry is still available.... Not many teams need a upgrade at the point except us, toronto is really looking to move him so lets see

Rondo also becomes a free agent that summer even if we traded for him beforehand so we would have to resign him to a lot more than 12mil

Lebron opts in then becomes FA in 2015.

We trade JR, Felt & Shump for a contract coming off the books by 2015.

We'll sign Lebron & Love to play with Melo.

Lebron becomes our PG of the future.

Lebron, THjr, Melo, Love & Tyler becomes the best line-up in the league.

We win. :D

That would be ideal the question is with Bledsoe gone for the season are they going to move any of them. My guess is no.

As far as Rondo goes he's just so overrated around the league right now. Don't get me wrong he;s a nice player but his numbers were severely inflated playing with pierce and Garnett the last couple of years.

I'm not sure the fit is there either. I'd much rather run the offense through Melo and have my PG play off him then have someone like Rondo who has no jumpshot and has to have the ball in his hands to be effective on offense.
'
If Lowry's too cost prohibitive. Why not go after a guy like Jameer Nelson? He can space the floor and play off Melo. He can hit the open three. His efficiency numbers and defense aren't where you'd like them to be but as a low-cost replacement for Felton you could do much worse (like give up our 2018 first for Brandon Knibght as someone suggested earlier).

I'd like what some of what you guys are smoking. I doubt we could get Dragic alone for that package.

So them also giving up a first is ridiculous.

Michael Jordon may have been the best basketball player in history, but he couldn't have won six NBA titles without a team.

Dump all contracts that go past 2015 summer (JR Smith and Felton), give Shump as incentive prospect (goes past 2015 summer as well once we resign) and get back Jameer Nelson who expires before that summer and can be a temporary PG solution

We need to start looking at some ways to get Felton and JR off the books for 2015. They've been playing better lately but we have a rare chance to construct a new, championship worthy squad and that's 10M of cap on a bad, 31 year old Felton and 30 year old JR. Ideas anyone?

1) JR Smith, Raymond Felton, Iman for Steve Nash?

2) JR Smith for Jason Terry?

3) Raymond Felton for Wizards' scrub + 2015 2nd round pick?

JR + Felton + Iman for Nelson

JR + Felton + Iman for Perkins + 2nd

JR + Felton + Iman for Amir Johnson + Landry Fields

JR + Felton + Iman for Andre Miller + Mozgov

These all fit the bill.

Its not crucial to trade jr and felton for the 2015 plan, you can always strech waive them if need be. will only eat up 3 mil of cap space instead of the 10.

if they're open to trade him for beno udrih+MWP then i'm ok :)
for 4 month LOAN, i dont want to give them asset.

we need shump+thj.
also felton could be backup for lowry.
so i can only give 2018 1st+udrih etc.

that bargnani trade was to much pick given trade.
if bargs going to return soon; maybe we can trade him with Asik.

then send Chandler for some picks or getting dragic from suns.

Return to New York Knicks
