But yeah, MVP race is over

January 29th, 2014: the night Durant officially won the 2013-2014 NBA MVP?
Said in a thread about which point guards would make OKC better if they replaced Westbrook:

Lebron had less TO, was more efficient with his shots, was just as impressive with his passes. Individually, I don't see how Lebron got outplayed by Durant aside from that particular stretch in the 3rd Q and start of the 4th

Lebron had three turnovers, Durant had 4. That's not an advantage

Also, Lebron had all his points in garbage time, but that's whatever

The MVP race is over. Now it's time to think about, is Durant the best player in the world right now?

Add in the fact that Durant pretty much took it easy tonight. Let his teammates get shots and only was aggressive when needed.

Thats because he barely drived it looks a lot easier when you're just catapulting it over shorter defenders. I bet he's not a breath of fresh air after this, he's probably a little tired.

Yo. Let's put aside the MVP talk for tonight and appreciate the amazing game we just watched Durant and LeBron have. There was that point in the 3rd quarter where they traded buckets back and forth for 4 or 5 possessions that was just nuts. It was awesome to watch.

Agreed. That was special. I'd love to see that happening in June.

Well, aren't you the rational and unbiased observer. LeBron had 27 or 28 at the end of the 3rd, I guess then the entire game was garbage time.

Wow you sound like a major homer. How did LeBron get all of his points in garbage time? They both shot 4 times in the 4th. LeBron scored 7 in the 4th and KD had 5.

Dont try to make it seem like KD completely outplayed LeBron especially when Durant only guarded Bron for stretches. He slightly outplayed him because he got the W but other than that the difference was the Thunder's role players compared to the Heat's role players. When Both LeBron and KD were out in the beginning of the second quarter, OKC cut into the lead and Fisher hit some crazy threes while Miami's shooters couldnt shoot.

KD played great but saying "all LeBron's points came in garbage time" is ridiculous

LeBrons points during that stretch dont count though because it was garbage time. Durants are still good though.

I get you're trying to make a joke, but its a bad one. The game was still close and those possessions mattered in the third at the time.

Lebron also guarded him the whole game but durant did guard him for small stretches and was the best on him. Stupid weird game though. Okc hit everything and Miami was hot trash especially on d like all year. Kd mores than locked the MVP. Congrats. Would love to see these two play in the finals. The best player in the league argument was never this close since 08

At half: Kd - 16. LJ - 15

End of 3rd: KD - 28. LJ - 27

So where is the bad joke? Go ahead and look at the play by play. When Durant was scoring a bunch in the 3rd, LeBron was scoring right there with him. How again are LeBron's points considered in "garbage time" and Durant's arent.

Your kogic: game was still close so the possessions still mattered. They were literally equal scoring wise during that few minute stretch when they were answering eachother. LeBron went from 19 to 27 and KD went from 20 to 28.

Looking forward to an explanation from either you or Mr. "All of LeBron's points came in garbage time" Fallacy. For now on i'm just gonna say ALL of Durant's points come from fts

KD easily has the MVP right now. My only point is this game was much more about the supporting cast than LeBron and Durant. They were about as even as it gets but of course because the Thunder won KD gets the nod.

KD didnt cause the Heat to turn the ball over 100 times in a 5 minute stretch and KD didnt open the bank for DFish lol
