Now when Hibbert goes to the bench with foul trouble, we have to deal with Bynum. And I'd say Bynum is better offensively than Hibbert is.

Bosh will be gone, Wade will sign for less money, and I think LeBron will stay. Allen will retire, Battier will retire, and Riley will shake up the roster and use Chris Bosh's money to finally get us legit rebounders and 7 footers.

It was a nice run. We have a shot to win it all next year again, but it would have been nice to have a 3-peat. Should have had one if not for 2011 disaster. Oh well.

Our only hope now is that LeBron and Wade go into 2011-2012 Basketball Gods mode again, but with Wade's health issues and a much improved Pacers team..... outlook is bleak on that happening.

So, a few games before the ASG, we're basically done, because a rival signed an asset? This is CHESS, not CHECKERS...just takes the right move.....We still have a KING(pun intended)

this is worst thing pacers done..

- it puts them "favorites", and all presure on them. Last 2 series, they played with nthg to lose... come this year end they will be playing with as much pressure as we had against them last 2 years
- withot underdog status, and with high pressure they will crumble against us
- Bynum - hibbert together wont play. signing bynum means limited minutes for hibbert..which i would take

Hibbert is defense. If we can get him with foul trouble that means we will be able to expose Bynum on defense but he in turn will turn Bosh UD Bird into punching bags. Its not all doom and gloom but we will need a productive offensive player to step up. Someone who can get to the free throw line, someone who can get on fire come playoff time. If only we had that type of player on our roster.......

All of this could have been avoided with the signing of Bynum, not because he would be a game destroyer, but because we would be stopping the competition from getting even BIGGER.

Sometimes I don't understand some masterminds moves (or lack thereof), but the idea of having an upper hand in the psychological war going into a game is an attractive advantage IMO.

To me, that was the one thing signing Bynum would've offered.

Anyways, let's carry on.

not worried - Andy is not the difference maker; he is weak mentally, and the Heat will rip him up and spit him out.

man, I guess I'll just trust the HEAT's staff on this one...surely they know a lot more about the Bynum situation than any of us; maybe there's more issues than we know and we're counting on Bynum ruining the Pacer's chemistry? I really don't know..

I am more confident of winning this year..then last year..

if i check last 10 - 14 years in nba...teams with best nba record tend to suffer come playoffs ...

Bynum signing with the Pacers shouldnt worry us too much. But the state of the heat right now should. We look bad. Not sure if its the middle of the regular season lull or what but right now, we could use a boost. Not sure if there are any other plans to add someone but i hope there are.

The Heat brass aren't idiots and they aren't asleep at the wheel. If they didn't make a hard push here (with the full mMLE in their back pocket), they didn't have him pegged as a contributor. It's hard to gauge Bynum's health, particularly with all the running around we do (or at least are supposed to do), but the potential was naturally going to be a strong allure. I was hoping that limited minutes here might help to mask that. Now, that hope is that he's as near useless as a number of analyst opinions I read and respect (and some of that time in Cleveland) indicate. I mean, centers get paid like it's a league mandate and this guy sat for a month. That's more than "Hmm, does he really want to play?"

Regardless, in addition to needing to pick up our own level on defense, a decently mobile big as an addition would be just peachy by me. I'd be stunned if Riles and crew aren't still looking about for something.

Overall, still ain't scared.

God will I be pissed if Bynum turns out to be a contributor for Indy.

For now, I'll trust Riley and co.

Riley better have a plan to trade for a center or sign a center that's bought out.

there are none....the heat has bought into Oden, he theoretically fits out system better anyway. We need a wing right now. I hope we get one before the trade deadline. Too bad we basically have nobody to trade...

Oden is not enough. He will only give you 15 mins a game max..not to mention he could get injured at any moment. There are plenty of centers to be had. Trade for Samuel Dalembert, Okafor could get bought out, unfortunately Riley passed on Bynum, also I like Darko he is available.

2 time world champion (but but but kobe carried him!!! so why can't the pacers carry him? his role would be lesser now than then).

you armchair clinical psychologists kill me with this "mentally weak" stuff

you were probably saying the same thing about lebron (not you but ppl like you). every sports fan thinks he's Sigmund Freud when it comes to psychoanalysis

you're spot on. it's the mental edge. with bynum in miami, indy wouldnt be able to say (or think) they're bigger and tougher and meaner.

indy signed bynum because they're only interested in one thing:
letting the heat kno that come playoff time we don't care about matching up with you, we're going to play our game and that is being BIGGER AND BADDER THAN YOU. BEATING YOU UP IN THE PAINT
