Great win !

Wall was amazing, Ariza did a GREAT job guarding Durant and Gortat had probably his best game as a Wizard.

BTW, it's because of games like this that i can't understand how can we lose to the Bucks, Celtics, Jazz...

ps: the bench did a pretty good job too...nothing spectacular, but they did what they are supposed to do

Well, that Heat game was pretty fun.

The Heat win was better imo.. this Thunder team was playing on a back-to-back and they were due for a loss, literally one guy was carrying them for 10 straight games

But this is the best we've ever been defensively post-Okafor. Gotta give Wittman credit there.

Steve Weissman
@SWeissmanESPN

John Wall is just the 3rd player in the last 10 seasons to have at least 15 points, 15 assists and 6 steals in a game.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

Yeah that Gortat/Wall game was great in the third. Pick & Roll looked great.

I thought he played very good defense and took smart shots. He has his WTF moments but this was nice to see out of him. Hopefully a major confidence booster. If we can squeeze 2-3 more minutes a game out of him it should help Wall immensely down the stretch.

Shout out to Webster too, he did a solid job in the 1st half. I thought Seraphin was decent too, booker missed a couple easy ones. Our bench actually looked serviceable tonight.

Great win. Wall dominated and that duel with KD in the third quarter was breathtaking.

A little sloppy down the stretch but I can't complain about a 15 point win over the NBA's best team in the midst of their hottest stretch of the year.

If Beal had found his range tonight, this would have been a blowout.

Ariza was fantastic. He's been indispensable thus far and I think he's proving that we need to try and keep him this summer. We can't afford to let him walk for nothing IMO. Even if it means bringing Porter along even more slowly.

This group is close to being a legit good team. You can see the pieces coming together. We get everyone involved on offense and we are capable of playing completely disruptive perimeter defense. Wall and Ariza are a force of nature when they're clicking and Nene always impresses me with his ability to scoot around the floor and cover a ton of different players. If Gortat and Booker and Seraphin were better interior defenders, we could be a terrific defensive team.

I think we're about three guys away from a complete unit top to bottom: another creative offensive player at a forward spot, a quality defensive big, and a third guard that can run point.

Also, OKC matches up somewhat poorly against size inside. A playoff matchup vs. Memphis would be scary for them.

Agreed, but you have to admit that Randy had a pretty good defensive scheme in the first quarter. I am sure that Brooks will make adjustments in the second half.

And I though the offensive movement in the first quarter was good - good 3 pt to long 2 point ratio sans Beal and Wall.

Wall stopped attacking in the second quarter, maybe he was tired or maybe Ibaka is in his head. But when Wall stops attacking - bad things happen.

Randy usually gets above average defensive effort but OKC was just REALLY sloppy for like a quarter and a half. And they're tired. I don't know how much of it is our defensive effort to be honest.
'

I thought both the defensive effort and schemes were good all game long. And a healthy dose of Ariza helps both the effort and the schemes. The trapping on Durant was pretty effective. He turned the ball over a couple of times that way. He also had some really good passes out of the traps as well.

The defense was fantastic. Ariza hounded Durant and the doubles worked. You live with the pick and pops that are inevitable because the most important thing is to make Durant work for his shots.

I don't really buy the excuse that OKC was tired either. Their guys got rest last night because of the blowout. They were hot as hell, they just ran into a bad match up. We've given them problems almost every time we play. The Thunder are a perimeter team, which is our strength on D, and they don't have the interior players to make us pay where our defensive weakness is.

Have to say Ariza, Gortat, and Nene played great. Defensively they locked down the paint and forced the Thunder into tough shots.
