Bulls have never said they are clearing space for Anthony. Also Bulls will not trade Taj for guys like Adrien unless your giving a couple of good picks with him. Of course some of us on the Bulls board are kidding with some of our trades for example the trade I said was something like Kemba, but of course it was a joke. Not coming to disrespect your board just to give you insight on what the Bulls actually as opposed to what people think they want.

Thanks for the perspective. What do you think the Bulls are wanting? Certainly they need to clear some salary, right? If Melo is not their target, what is their plan?

Well that's the thing they haven't made it 100% that they're chasing Melo or shedding salary. They would chase Melo if he said he for sure wants to be a Bull. Everybody thinks the Deng move was about us chasing FA, but that's far from the truth because Bulls actually offered him a contract before trading him for cap space.

They would probably want a few good picks maybe the portland pick and a future first + maybe Sessions. This may not be exactly what they want but it's just an example. They want like good picks and at least decent players that they could use to trade or use if they so choose.

The plan isn't clear 100%, but it will be maybe going after a guy like Stephenson or Hayward if Melo decides he doesn't want to come here. If they get none of those guys then they will be bringing over our euro stash Nikola Mirotic.

To piggyback on what Proven said, Chicago wants to pair a superstar with DRose. If Melo told them thru back channels that he was going to sign there then "maybe" they clear space now. But i think they have learned their mistake from trading Hinrich in 2010.

My feeling is they are open to offers on most of the roster but they will not make anymore moves just to save money. They want to be good next season in the hope that Rose is healthy so they will keep Taj, Noah, Butler etc...unless the deal is too good to pass up.

But if say melo (for example) wants out of NY this summer, then they might look to a team like the Hornets to absorb Taj's contract.

He's a PF who can play at C. He's a great all around defender. He will bust his ass for every loose ball and will run the floor on a fastbreak. He is between decent and good on offense most nights. He will pull off some nice post moves usually like a semi dream shake. He's 28, but he's a very good player at 28. He has a decent mid range and doesn't complain about how many minutes you give him. Also he isn't afraid to try to dunk on anybody given the chance and will go and catch lobs.

Taj Gibson is a pretty good player but at his age and salary I can't imagine giving up too much for him. 8-9 mil thru 2017 is a big commitment already let alone the players/picks/opportunity cost of that cap space we'd be giving up all for a player that while decent, doesn't exactly take us to the next level. Just don't see a Bulls/Bobcats trade that gives mutual benefit to both sides really. We need to be targeting a SG

This dumb front office continue covering up for their mistakes. They can't draft worth a darn. When is mj going to wake up and bring in a real gm and scouts that know what they are doing. Notice how quiet cho has been. No more talk of the Thunder and how to build through the draft.

Cho hasn't been fired yet b/c he keeps challenging MJ in a game of table tennis to keep his job. MJ's such a competitor, he keeps taking him up on it.

I must be the only person who thinks that Cho has done a reasonable job?

Could it have been better? Most certainly.

Could it have been worse? Most certainly.

Technically he turned Hammer into Hakim Warrick who turned into McBob.

Excellent pieces of business by Chobot.

taj is more than just a shot blocker and defender, he is way way way better than Biz is, it's not even close. Taj has a jumpshot now and everything.

The good thing about their interest in Taj Gibson is that it must mean they're aware of the size of the project required to groom Zeller. Taj is contract for 3 years. This is the first sign they were wrong when they thought he was NBA ready. And I think they're open to drafting a PF, unless all they have is the DET pick.

Agreed. Cho hasn't been what I expected, but he certainly hasn't been bad by any stretch and I'm not in the least bit calling for his head.

Note to Jerry Reinsdorf: Have fun paying the repeat offender luxury tax for a depleted team, on top of that paying Carlos Boozer close to the 'max' to play for another team after using the amnesty clause on him

So it seems Taj Gibson is out which means maybe Brandon Bass becomes a more likely target.

Doubt he's out. Chicago recently said they were worried about paying the luxury tax on Gibson. I doubt that fear has suddenly vanished. This next week is going to be filled with annoyingly stupid blurbs of fake trade rumors just like it is every year.

They will trade Dunleavy before they trade Taj. That article was in reference to Chicago "possibly" paying the tax this year if Taj gets his all nba defensive team bonus.

But even if he does they will squeak under the tax this year.

Bulls wont trade him except in a move to get a star. This summer is when they "might" dump him to make room, if they get word that melo will sign.
