Norris Cole, who might barely reach Tyson's head if he was standing on LeBron's shoulders, also punked Tyson.

He's just not that good. Not really his fault -- not like he's not trying. He is just overrated on some things.

For instance, his awareness in the paint is pretty bad. Besides those layups, he was just staring at the ball a couple of times while cutters snuck in behind him for easy scores.

His little tantrums are lame though.

The biggest issue is, beyond the lob play, he's useless on offense so, if a player is only going to be useful on defender, he better believe he will be more scrutinized on that end than any other player and guards routinely scoring in the paint is unacceptable.

That's not really true. He doesn't hurt us on offense. There's been plenty of times when the offense has looked great with him on the floor. He sets good screens, can finish on the pick n roll, helps on offensive boards and has good hands for a big. Its not like opponents can easily leave him wide open underneath.

Tyson to OKC

Perkins
Adams
Lamb
Possible a pick to NY

That is a great trade for both teams.

But he still should be traded since this team is going nowhere and Tyson is too old to be part of the '15 rebuild.

Sell high, sell high.

What can we sell high for though? We can only sell high if there is a bidder at the table willing to pay.

Could Thunder benefit from Jackson, Sefelosha, Perkins for Udrih, Chandler and Alderich? Sure. But they wouldn't make that move because they'd lose their premier defensive wing.

I'm pretty sure more then a few teams would be interested. Cavs, Hawks, Blazers, Nuggets, OKC, Mavs, etc? There are teams that could use a C.

If we can get a pick, young player and/or get rid of JR or Felton I'd consider it.

Not to pick you apart here but:
Cavs and OKC I already gave ya.
Hawks: Horford and Millsap already they have invested.
Blazers: Might, but they don't have the salary to match up, do we want to take back Robin Lopez at 5/year for 3 years?
Mavs: don't want to spend that much on him, thats why we have him
Nuggets: Would rather slice their legs off than help us.
as for etc. I think it is easier to hypothesize that teams may WANT Chandler, but it is tough to find teams with assets that can fit him.

Tyson + Shumpert + Aldrich for Perkins + Sefolosha + Adams. That's the best we could hope for.

(i) I never said our offense has not looked good with him on the floor

(ii) Apart from the lob, I will agree he sets good screens and does get some useful tip outs

(iii) I disagree that he has good hands. In fact, if you give that guy the ball outside of a lob, or if he picks it up off the floor or gets the ball in the post, he fumbles the ball away or just chucks up nonsense because he's clearly uncomfortable with the ball for any sustained period outside of a lob.

(iv) Not being able to leave him open wide open underneath is a non starter--you can't do that with any nba player so who cares if he can do the bare minimum.

Apart from the above, I will amend, he is useless. that isn't great and it forces him to be that much more accountable from his defense. There are MANY times he's been here that he's come out with zero energy and has been simply neutral on defense which isn't good enough and MANY times where he's either been sick/injured. I don't blame him for the latter but it happens to him so often that, for a $14 mm investment, it's a serious problem.

Post was in the present tense and Felton has 2.5 years left on his deal.

OKC is not giving up Adams, they LOVE him! Perkins would be traded ASAP

Tyson, Shump and Felton for Westbrook and Perkins :D

The article was BS, but OKC would benefit more from having Tyson on the roster this season than Westbrook. Actually I can see OKC making a slick deal for a guy like Dion Waiters.

They have Lamb, they have zero need for Waiters.

I agree they could use Tyson, quite a few contenders would, but none will give up top 10 players for him.

You might be right about that. But I do not sleep on OKC doing the unexpected. They always seem to sell high or buy rite :D at just the perfect time

I can see them trading for Tyson, wont deny that.

What I cannot see is getting anything back to them in the value of Westbrook Adams or Lamb.

What I could see is Tyson for Perkins, Thabeet, PJIII and a filler.

Keep in mind alot of this Tyson talk comes from an article that stated teams are calling.

I'd bet those offers are a joke though.

Dallas let Chandler go only because they wanted cap space to go after Deron or Dwight. They actually offered him a huge 1 year deal, but Chandler went for the longer contract. They loved chandler there and I would bet would welcome him back.

blazers, maybe we have to find a 3rd team to make the contracts work, but that's not out of the question.

trading chandler actually makes us worse this year which is incentive for Denver since they have our pick.

im sure theres other teams too. All it takes is 1 team though. I really don't think it would be that tough, but since we are not shopping him its tough to say. Quality Cs are rare so they have value. I will just agree to disagree though.

Really though, Melo misses enough layups. Can't have a starting center who can't clean up.

I think you are under rating how difficult it is to catch a lob off a pick n roll while cutting to the basket and finish. You can't do that without good hands. Keep in mind its in comparison with Cs, not guards. For a C he has good hands.

but I do agree that he comes out looking terrible sometime. But can you name one player on this team that hasn't looked terrible for stretches? Even Melo has gone through some terrible stretches. There's just so many more issues on this team.

Trade Chandler, but only to get some value and rebuild
