Mason/Douglas could be cut at any time, and who knows what that could entail.

Ira's an idiot. No one here is saying he was the "last hope", we're saying he could've given us a better chance to win. As usual, Ira provides a strawman argument that hardly relates to the question.

Even if Bynum did present a small upgrade to our chances (and none of us know that to be true, with how badly he looked this year), who's to say we won't make another move, a better one, before the playoffs?

The only way Bynum will be considered a missed opportunity is he plays well for Indy AND we don't make any other moves this year.

Let's wait for those 2 things to come to fruition BEFORE we start bitching about how badly we messed up the Bynum situation.

What better move is out there? I'm really hoping you don't say Okafor or Hawes. All Bynum would have helped with is a big body to turn Hibbert from the Wilt Chamberlain clone he turns into against us back into normal Roy Hibbert. We just needed a big body to keep him off the boards and someone big and long enough to contest his hooks.

Bynum is a missed opportunity regardless if he helps the Pacers or not. If he does nothing there but could have helped us here, we still missed out. Hell, if nobody signed him at all but he could have helped us, we missed out. It's opportunity cost.

This is nonsense. Minor upgrades help you win more comfortably on a team like this. No one is saying we can't win but with minor upgrades, winning can become more certain.

Bynum wasn't coming here! He wants to be used and part of the team. Here he would of had to "Prove" himself and play within our defensive "system". Bynum was never going to play in our system and Bynum knew this. Bynum loves himself some money! He fits perfectly over there and this is another signing of a team going right at our "system".

Hopefully Oden holds up & Bosh is ready to bang. This is the first year where on paper, Indy should beat us if it isn't for a LeBron being on our team.

I too just wasn't convinced Bynum would join here. Ethan Skolnick had a great article about him being a bad fit within the culture in the Heat locker room. Basically ours is filled w/ guys who love the game of basketball (coupled w/ the fact that there are guys on this team who have gotten paid or have something to prove). In any case, I don't see Bynum addition for either Pacers or Heat to make the real difference in a series between them. Indiana acquiring Bynum is more about us not having an added tool in combating their size advantage more than it is about Bynum helping them. I expect us to showcase our small-ball but w/ a bit of fine tuning and Birdman/Bosh playing more in tandem. The teams that beat the Pacers this year not including us were the Suns twice, Warriors, and Blazers -- basically teams that score the ball a lot and run a fast paced offense. Wade being the true X-factor in the series, he needs to win his match-up against Stevenson convincingly on both ends.

Where's Mopper? He was a great poster. One needed w/ all the chicken littles reigning about this forum.

Warriors haven't beat the Pacers and Blazers was a 4 pt game on the road in the 2nd night of a back to back when they were super hot.

Fantastic. I'm sure we were all asking for a Pacers superfan to become a permanent resident on this board so we could have a factchecker whenever we were discussing Indiana.

I think he's more useful for Indiana than he'd ever be for us. We don't have a use for post scoring. They do.

Oden if he stays healthy is exactly the center we need.

Sounds like a nice excuse. Get back to us when you've won a Chip or 2 in a row and everyone comes out all guns blazing every game against you rather than a one-off.

Not even from this country... which most likely means, you're a new fan and only chose to be a fan because of winning. Let us know when you've been a fan of a team during their down years and not just a fan when they're winning. It's easy to talk big when you're a front runner.

STFU and GTFO!!!!!
It's easy to talk big when you finally have a relevant team. Go back to your ghost board.
During the down years it seems..

oh.. and I almost forgot..

Enjoy..

At the end of the day when you consider all the facts he is a moron, not nearly disciplined enough to thrive in vogels system. In my opinion he will be a liability on the court because he won´t get as much leniency as Hibbert gets against us, allowing Bron to be more aggressive and draw fouls.
