The sixth-year guard averaged 26.8 points on 63.9 percent shooting from the field and 69.2 percent shooting from three-point territory, in addition to posting 6.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds while playing just 29.2 minutes for the week.

I knew he was beasting last week, but I had no idea he was beasting that much. 27PPG on 64%FG and 69%3FG.

they were definitely very efficient games, even in the charlotte game where I felt he maybe hotdogged it slightly.

Dragic definitely deserves it for a phenomenal week but why do I get the feeling this is the consolation prize before awarding Anthony Davis the final West all-star spot?

Exactly. It's like,"Hey Dragic, you've had a great season and we know you totally deserve to be an all star over Davis, but The Brow is so much more marketable and he plays for NO. Here's a player off the week award for your troubles".

They have to do the right thing and give it to Goran.

it would be absurd if phoenix has no representative in the all star game or the rookie soph challenge. (at least anthony davis is already selected in the rookie-soph game)

Damian Lillard over Dragic still makes me laugh.

Yeah, I'm sure being, at the very least, one of the top 3 power forwards in the game would have nothing to do with it.

Well yeah I think that goes without saying. 20/10/3 blocks at age 20. I just don't think he's as deserving as dragic to play in the all star game this year. This could be dragic's only chance whereas Davis will be racking up all star spots for 13+ years.

I can appreciate that. I just don't think it's fair or accurate to act like Davis doesn't have any legitimate merits on which to be named an All-Star. I get we want our guy in, and he deserves it too, but I think we can support him and make a case for him in ways that aren't partial, inaccurate, or unreasonable (not saying what you said were any of those things).

only knock against him is that New Orleans isn't exactly a defensive powerhouse in spite of his defense, so he isn't exactly top anchor the same way Hibbert is. In fact the Hornets are among the leaders in giving up points in the restricted area, which is kind of odd. Oh and he missed quite a few games.

Yeah but Indiana has really good defenders at other positions; you can't give all the credit to Hibbert.

A lot of defense is also about the scheme, not just player ability. That's why I don't put as much stock in Pau's defensive stats in LA (that, and I'm not crazy about on/off court defensive ratings).

You don't have to look at stats to know that Pau is a terrible defender.

I don't buy the All Star snub compensation award theory.

Goran has been nothing short of amazing last week. And the Suns completed a 4 road game sweep. Who else was more deserving?

in my opinion, the award does nothing but help Dragic in his all-star chances. The league has absolutely no need to give him PotW, compensation or not. The fact that they did it might be a sign that the league is thinking of fixing a problem that the coaches created when they chose the reserves.
