Raps Fan Question

Post#1 » by dkb33 » Tue Feb 4, 2014 9:34 pm

There have been some rumors of interest in Kyle Lowry and I was wondering what you would give up to get him?

- Danny Granger

- C.J Watson

- 2015 1st round pick

- 2014 2nd round pick

- 2015 2nd round pick

for

- Kyle Lowry

- Landry Fields

- Steve Novak

How does this sound?

A 1st rounder for less than half-season rental of Kyle Lowry isn't very attractive, and we'd have to cut Novak or Fields. This team needs to value that 1st rounder even if it's low, because if Lance Stephenson gets re-signed, the best source of good cheap talent will be through the draft.

Lowry IMO would put you ahead of the Heat as the favorite for the East. Championship time in Pacer land I would do whatever it takes to get better now if I were you guys.

As much as I dislike George hill I think it's starting to become to late to replace him. We're getting to the point if the season where u need to be playing your best. I think bringing another player like Lowry in would make us take a step back even though Lowry is a lot better. Just chemistry issues and stuff like that.

Lowry would be nice, but is simply a luxury we can't afford (not that I'm upset about that now that we have a bench who could be a starting 5 on a weak east team).

We can't trade the 2015 first anyways since we owe ours this year to Phoenix, so it'd have to be a 2017 at the earliest, which is far too risky and makes it hard to make future moves. If we take back any salary then we lose Lance too, so Fields/Novak is an instant no-go.

none of the rumors came out of Indy. Raps want to move him but there really is no deal that makes sense from our end.

The Pacer's championship window is the span that George and Hibbert are on our team. In 2017 barring injury they will both be in their peaks. I think we can have more shots at a championship. We've already gone quite all-in on this season while valuing continuity.

It sounds terrible and not worth the bandwith to consider.

I do not see the Pacers taking on 12M in salary after this season plus giving up an #1.
