Yall forget to mention my sleeper/blast from the past: Allie Reynolds. He was cash money. Boy, I watch too much Yankeeography.

You forgot about Tony Lazzeri at 2b. I would also think you'd have to find a place for Paul O'Neil

I tried really hard to make room for O'Neill, but I went with Reggie Jackson. I also left Maris and Winfield off.

Reggie is on mine, but there was no room for Winfield. I'd take O'Neill over Winfield.

I'm very surprised not many of you have Rizzuto on your teams.

Pitching - 11

Starting Rotation:

Whitey Ford
Ron Guidry
Mel Stottlemyre
Andy Pettitte
Lefty Gomez
(I'd throw Roger Clemens in the rotation, but he did spend most of his career in Boston. Then again, a some of the guys on this list have had their best years here)

Bullpen:

LRP - David Cone (The Cone that pitched before and during the perfect game)
LRP - Orlando Hernandez
MRP - Dave Righetti
MRP - Catfish Hunter
SU - Goose Gossage
CL - Mariano Rivera

Batting - 14

Batting Order

2B - Tony Lazzeri
SS - Derek Jeter
1B - Lou Gehrig
3B - Alex Rodriguez (If he could spend the rest of his career here)
DH - Babe Ruth
CF - Mickey Mantle
C - Thurman Munson
RF - Joe DiMaggio
LF - Bernie Williams

Bench:

Backup C - Yogi Berra
OF - Roger Maris
IF (2nd and SS) - Phil Rizzuto
1B - Don Mattingly
3B - Graig Nettles (with and without the 6 superballs)

Return to New York Yankees
