As others on this board have mentioned, our immediate future doesn't look promising as eg has constructed our roster in such a way that there isnt much we can do to significantly improve this team.
As such, I think our best move would be moving our assets to acquire multiple future assets to make a run at a top tier free agent in 2016.
The only position on our team that has any depth is sf, so that is what we would have to use to improve our roster going forward. This is what I would do:
2014 pre deadline: trade Webster and a 1st round pick in 2016 for Sanders or
Webster and trade option to trade 2015 or 2016 1sts with Detroit for Monroe or
Webster and 2014 2nd round pick to lakers for Jordan Hill
2014 offseason: resign ariza, gortat, booker/seraphin, and whoever we got in trade with bird rights. Ariza and Gortat 2 yr deals for more money. than split mle between a guard and depth big man. Ownership would have to be willing to go into lux tax. for one yr.
2014/15 lineup
pg wall/mle/maynor
sg beal/mle/rice Jr.
sf ariza/porter/rice Jr.
pf nene/trade big/ (booker/seraphin)
C Gortat/nene/mle big
summer 2015: just sign draft pics
2015/16 deadline: trade ariza and Gortat for smaller expiring contracts and picks to get under lux tax. Then, if Minnesota or okc are feeling pressure to trade stars put a packege of the expirings, picks and a young guy for either love or durant.
2016 offseason: let nene's and other contracts expire resign whatever star u got. or if u didnt try to sign them with cap space with lure of playing with wall/beal and young core that should have been competitive last 3 yrs.
What do u guys think.

Not sure we needed a new thread for this.
Basically, you'd like to trade Webster plus picks for decent big and then resign our free agents for 2-year deals to maintain flexibility in 2016. Sure, if that's possible, I'd do it. I just don't think it's possible. Ariza and Gortat are going to want longer deals, and I don't think anybody is trading us Sanders or Monroe for Webster. I also think keeping Gortat is a little redundant if we add a starting-caliber big man like that.

Lets just say it: we need to dump salary for Durant in 2016.
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

Use Nene/Gottat/Arizas contract for Sanders/Monroe.
