Crazy that teams are saying we are not engaging in trade talks. Dumars better not let anyone
Lowball him but he better not turn down a good package either. Everyone besides Drummond should be being discussed.

I would consider this trade. But I also think Gortat will leave for another team in the offseason. At the same time, this would give us the cap space to add another player. Nice trade. A first round pick would only sweeten the deal! However, if a first round pick is included, I see Porter being traded instead of Beal. I'll take that too. Definitely.

How about a Monroe and CV for our pick, MKG, and BG. It would be like we traded Monroe for Smith and had two first round picks in Drummond's draft and got MKG. PLUS, we still have our pick!

Another trade could include (This was said in another thread by a new user) Beal, Ariza, and Gortat for Monroe and CV. I put a spin on it and said Porter, Gortat, and Wiz's first round pick for Monroe and CV. Add in fillers.

yeah I was just reading that. Lots of stuff on the Pistons. If I'm reading that correctly, it sounds like Washington has been going hard at us with offers for Monroe, even offering Beal, but the Pistons aren't budging. It sounds lke the Pistons are either playing some serious negotiation games, taking this to the 11th hour for the best possible offers, or are just really not interested in dealing any of these guys.

From the article:

The Washington Wizards would like to make a trade. In fact sources close to the situation peg Washington as the top suitor for Detroit’s Greg Monroe. The problem is they can’t get any traction. The Wizards have trade chips. They have the ending contract of Trevor Ariza and Marcin Gortat. Rookie Otto Porter has been mentioned more than once as has second year guard Brad Beal. Not necessarily because Washington wants to move them, but because they are trying to shake loose a real trade. They just are not getting there.

If you can figure the Detroit Pistons out, bravo. If there is a team in the East that needs to make a roster-changing trade it’s Detroit, but more and more teams are saying Detroit is holding the line. The Pistons have several ending contracts that have value – most notably Rodney Stuckey. They have a pending restricted free agent in Greg Monroe that could return real value and the Pistons seem to be sitting this one out. Several teams have called only to find Detroit reluctant to engage. That could clearly change over the next 15 days, especially as the finality of the deadline approaches, but as much as the Pistons need to make a deal they seem the most unwilling to entertain one.

I think Dumars is pulling legs here. I definitely think he's waiting for the big catch. He knows Monroe's value is sky high and how teams overrate offensive bigs. He wanted Cousins over him for a reason. I think he will be trade by the trade deadline. It's a just a matter of how much can he get for Monroe.

yeah I'm not really buying any of that talk about us not willing to engage anyone in trade talks. I don't know if Monroe will be the one dealt, but I think everyone is in play at this point and they are just waiting for all the offers to come in before making a decision.

i just don't see a logical trade with the wizards unless they're willing to take on smith.

I'd do that trade too. But I don't think Wiz trade Beal. They would rather trade Porter. So Porter Gortat and a pick sounds good to me.

I'm thinking Dumars was offered a nice pick this season. I have to believe that he's waiting for something juicy. I think he hasn't pulled a trade yet because he knows just because they won't make the playoffs, doesn't mean they'll lose on a pick. I hope this is the case. I'm really banking on him making a trade by the trade deadline. Here are the options:

1. Gores froze Dumars and we are just riding the season until a new GM comes into place and kicks Cheeks out.
2. Dumars is getting nice offers for our assets which could include:
A. A nice pick and young talent.
B. A solid player that's on a nice contract.
C. An expiring contract.

Maybe Dumars doesn't really care to make the Playoffs as he believes his new trade will save him. There could be many reasons as to why there hasn't been much movement from the FO. But my feeling is that he's waiting for teh big catch. I think he'll get it. I believe it.

If Charlotte wants Monroe they can eat **** before they get him.

Ben Gordon, MKG, AND the rights to our pick back

for

Jerebko, Bynum, Datome, Monroe

We clear 9M of useless salary, get MKG a young SF putting up **** numbers 8pts / 5 rebounds, and get our pick back.

Remember even tho Cho is running the show, Jordan is pulling the strings. You dont think he would love a franchise big to put next to Big Al?

If they dont want to give us that package we will hold onto Monroe and deal him in the offseason

We like your pick in Charlotte. And if we acquire Evan Turner, MKG would be available but you're not the only team that wants him. Monroe is a one year rental looking for a huge deal. And you guys won't commit big money to him so you will have to sell him. MKG might be the best you can do.

Of course you as a Bobcat fan would believe this to be true huh?

If the Pistons traded Moose for MKG, I'd renounce my faith in this inept ass squad for good.

You've lost it if you actually believe the Pistons would give Monroe for MKG straight up. That's ridiculous

It's one year of Monroe then a huge cap space commitment. Think Luol Deng type of return.

I'm sure the Bobcats ar licking their lips over our pick but the way things are going they may not get it.

I'm not saying I'm Dumars but I doubt he would sell low on Monroe, so MKG straight up isn't happening. You guys would have to give up a pick. I'm confused with your Deng example because I don't think the Bobcats would look at Monroe as a rental. Wouldn't the Bobcats look at Monroe as there future with Kemba? So you guys would probably make re-signing Monroe a top priority.

True, but I'd rather commit to Monroe long-term than trade him for MKG, who will also eventually get an extension. And he's mostly a defensive specialist. Doesn't solve issues for us. We need someone who can shoot and play defense.
