Sam Smith dropped this comment in: The whispers are the Cavs also may have a very difficult time resigning Irving, who grew up in New Jersey and is said to have an interest in a return.
If this is true, Grant at least better be testings the waters for a blockbuster to see what we can get for Kyrie. I hope this is not true. Could be Ladouchebag Part II the sequel.

Wonder what crap we will get from Brooklyn in return for a S&T. Four second rounders and an option to trade no. ones in 4 or 5 years? :roll:

Lol at comparing Harden's situation with Deng's... that's where this writer's credibility stops, completely.

Kyrie has no say for another 4 or so years.

don't be so sure. I rememebr a certain point guard named Andre Miller that wanted out after his rookie deal and he got his way when the Cavs got cheap.

Would be crazy if we lost a star player specifically because they wanted to play for their home team.

He may eventually want to play there, but it seems really unlikely that he'd do it until after the second contract. He's certainly not going to the Nets who won't have the money and are going to be locked into Deron Williams (whether they like it or not) beyond when Kyrie could leave.

Kyrie has a little more to prove before I'm too upset that he's leaving. It would be a lot more like losing Terrell Brandon than losing LeBron at this point.

Brooklyn has handicapped their future for many years to come, hard to believe kyrie would want to go there.

Andre was asking for the max, and the Cavs didn't want to pay him that much. There doesn't seem to be any question at this point that we'll offer Kyrie the max.

So, Andre's situation seems a bit more like Deng's, and that precedent isn't too happy either as Miller didn't re-sign with the Clippers and moved on to the Nuggets.

The way things are going, we may go through something similar with every other young player we have OTHER than Kyrie.

This article is pretty strange. Is the perception in Chicago really that we gave up a ton of picks for Deng? Portland's 2d round picks are garbage. Talk about a spin job. We gave up nothing for Deng.

I think it's pretty clear that if Irving doesn't sign his extension on the day it's offered, he's gone. I'm not going to shed a tear.

The only player I would take from Brooklyn would be Livingston and maybe AK47. That package get's them Jack not Kyrie. If Kyrie doesn't sign the extension, we find a team who is convinced they can get Kyrie to sign and who is willing to give up as much as possible.
