He was solid with the Knicks, solid role player all around that can shoot 3s. Earl Clark is probably the better player but he is a good replacement.

^I agree and sometimes the lesser replacement player works out better than the guy he replaced. Remember when we added Powell in place of Turiaf? Powell hit a few timely jumpers in our championship runs that forced the defense to respect him. It wasn't necessarily the points we needed but the threat kept the defense honest and gave a little more breathing room to our stars. Turiaf probably wouldn't have had that impact.

The knicks were great last year when Novak and Rasheed were hitting 3's for them and were awful when they both got hurt. That floor spacing is huge in picking apart a defense, especially in the regular season. The fewer minutes our old timers get in the regular season the better.

Kind of wish we'd gotten the shot-swatting Sean Williams instead, but a good pickup

Makes no sense. Why not bring Manny Harris back? We have bigs in Sacre, Hill, and Kaman. We have Kelly and Johnson for our stretch fours. Manny deserves it more than Shawne.

You can only offer 2 10-days, after that you need to sign a player for the remainder of the season. Shawne Williams for the next 20 days would be adequate back up for Nick Young's downtime.

Didn't know that. For some reason I thought I remembered Mike James getting a third contract once that wasn't for the remained of the season from some team.

Perhaps a stupid question..but what actually qualifies as a 10-day contract?

I have seen not only Manny, but in the past where someone is put on a 10 day contract and they stay much longer than ten days.

Is it actual games played? Or number of days actually coming to work? (game days and practice) or technically something else?

I am sure Manny played more than just 10 games.

10 days or 3 games
A 10 day contract is a where a Free Agent signs a player contract which lasts ten days (or three games, whichever comes later). A team may sign a player to two 10-day contracts in one season (they may or may not be consecutive). After the second 10-day contract, the team can only retain the player by signing him for the remainder of the season. A team can't have more 10-day contracts than they have players on their Inactive List. Ten-day contracts are available to be used starting January 5 (or the first business day thereafter) each season. Typically, if the the team sees improvement in the player they will usually resign them; if not, they are waived.

Swaggy saw Farmar and Blake playing and knew he had to get the tank back on track. Kid's got it.

Well, it's good to see Shawne back. He gets to participate in the tank for a bit longer.
