Yeah, even with Doc's obssesion to go small and playing both Blake an DJ heavy minutes, there's still some time when you need to play a back up big, and neither Hollins nor Jamison should be seeing any rotation minutes in the NBA at the moment. Much less on a supposed contender.

I am coming around to Doc's idea of DJ and Blake playing the vast majority of the minutes and I accept now that we don't need a quality player to back them up for 20-30 minutes (the Taj Gibson/Amir Johnson type that I was hoping for). But we still need a competent big that can play 10-15 minutes a game and hold his own in case one of those 2 gets injured. An Ekype Udoh type of player maybe.

I don't even want to think about it, but imagine DJ gets injured right now, we are completely done if that happens. We have absolutely no one capable of taking his minutes.

not for a half a season rental. for a team like us with little financial flexibility going forward, picks are far more valuable than a rental pickups no matter how low of a first rounders they are.
ehhhhh f it.

probably not, our 2nd rounders will be worth next to nothing, as they will surely be in 50's range. 6er's Im sure want at least a mid to late 1st rounder.

Pretty sure Hawes expires this year and he would end up demanding too much to get re-signed. Evan would end up leaving us too since he'd get a deal too big for us to match.
If the Clippers win the championship next year I'm getting banned from RealGM

As good as our team is, we have a lot of dead weight in players like Mullens, Jamison & Green who rarely see minutes and players like Hollins and Dudley who shouldn't see minutes. There is five pieces right there.

Why don't your GM sign Ivan Johnson? Can't be worse than Mullens or Jamison. Could be a decent guy from the bench who would average 10-15 minutes

The more I read about Chris Kaman trade rumours the more I hope the Clippers make a move.

Be careful where you get your sources for the next two weeks. There is a Sportscenter report going around that the Clippers are willing to trade Jamal Crawford to acquire that third big. Some reports even claim that the Clippers want Luou Deng.

First, Crawford is not getting traded. This was confirmed by LA CLIPCAST through a DM.

Second, Luou Deng has a claim clause on his contract. He cannot be traded for two months. The only way they can get Deng is if the Cavs buy out his contract.

The only true report is the Dudley trade proposal.

Names that have popped up include Evan Turner, Spencer Hawes, Iman Shumpert, Ron Artest, Glen Davis, Kendrick Perkins, Omer Asik and Matt Bonner.

Dudley Dealings

Post#680 » by Ranma » Mon Feb 10, 2014 6:30 am

Suspending the notion of not trading with interdivision (and even hated) rivals, I'm wondering if the following possibilities would be helpful:

With talk of the Suns looking at Rudy Gay and Zach Randolph for their postseason run, I'm curious if they would be interested in bringing back Jared Dudley who was last effective with them.

Also, the Grizzlies are apparently interested in a small forward. Would a package of Dudley & Mullens entice them to part with Ed Davis & Jamaal Franklin?
