Official Trade Dwill at all costs thread

Post#1 » by Prokorov » Sat Feb 8, 2014 2:15 am

The guy needs to go. this last stretch of games has really been the last straw for me. We were playing fantastic until he was inserted back as a starter. He is getting outplayed nightly by opposing point gaurds and evenbackup point gaurds. and the list of those names arent impressive: Jennings, Stuckey, George hill, cj watson, derek fisher, lowry, harris, calderon, etc...

Our small ball has pretty much been ineffective in there because the defense drops off. and to play small ball you cant have your gaurds allowing guys to get to the hoop unabated and never get through screens.

basically, he either hits his outside shot and has some bounce in his step and looks ok, or he is just awful on both ends. beyond that, he makes 80 million is our msot talented player yet offers no on or off court leadership and sets the tone in a very negative way.

whats the down side to him not playing? we suck worse then we already do? is that even possible? the upside? we saw that when he was injured in janurary.

id take expirings for him right now. id even take bad 2 year contracts and a 2nd rounder. but he needs to go and he needs to go soon

It's pretty bad at this point. Dude is a straight up scrub right now. I'm not even overreacting: it's a nightly mismatch at PG every single night, and NOT in our favor.

I didn't watch the 1st half tonight, but the way he played at the beginning of the 3rd quarter was just disgusting, especially considering we were trying to make some sort of run to get back into it at that point.

its frustrating... especially with the bar set so low for him at this point.... its like i just dont want him to get drastically outplayed by the brandon jennings of the world. i dont even care if he averages liek 12 and 7. just dont get anialiated.

jennings 1 assist shy of a triple double and then you have marquis effing teague coming in and playing better then williams did.

Shaun Livingston has been a better player than this fat bastard all year

I agree with the OP word for word.

The Jazz knew what they were doing when they traded him here.

He's **** ing washed up

16 points, 8 assists, 4 rebounds (7-14 shooting) vs De Colo/Patty Mills.
10 points, 0 assists, 1 rebound (4-10 shooting) vs Jennings.

He's honestly an embarrassment. He's getting outplayed by everyone on a nightly basis but 3rd stringers at this point and at one point, he was routinely getting owned vs the Spurs in the 1st half. I'm so over him and his excuses. He's not the same player, he's extremely mentally weak.

and most importantly, another guy who has outplayed him: shaun livingston.

makes it all the more reason to move williams. someone has to have 20 million dollars of combined bad contracts that dont run more then 2-3 years. i proposed this on the trade board:

nets get: Javale mcgee(awful contract but only 2 more years) Hickson(awful contract but only 2 more years) Jeremy Lin, denvers 1st rounder

Houston gets: Deron Williams, Mirza

Denver Gets: Asik

-Denver gets a starting center to replace the injured mcgee and dumps 2 horrific contracts
-Houston adds Dwill and a stretch 4 to play next to dwight to make a title run
-Nets Add irrelevant money that doenst run into 2016, a first rounder, and lin

Lin/Teague
Livingston
JJ/Anderson
Pierce/Hickson
KG/Blatche

we dont get worse this year, we get a decent 3rd big who can help us on the glass in hickson, we get a much needed first, and we clear 23 M off of the 2016 cap.

houston probably says no though :x

Going to repeat this for the umpteenth time: no point in trading him when his value is at an all time low.

Don't care. If anyone is willing to take him off our hands and we get an expiring, minor bad contract and maybe a raw prospect, we need to take it and run.

His value will never be high and waiting for him to get back to being a valuable player is unrealistic at this point.

Are you sure you could even get that at this point? Last season he was playing exactly like this and then it changed after the all star break. Maybe it will happen again. There is no point in making a panic move with a player whose trade value is extremely low. Use your brain, stop saying knee jerk things and be more patient.

Nobody is going to trade him based off whatever he does post all star break. His reputation of being injury prone and inconsistent is already there. Could it be something to sell teams on? Sure but his 3 years as a Net is what GMs will look at.

I hope he does have a big resurgence post all star break but I doubt it. Houston wanted him until his latest ankle injury, why risk other teams doing the same?

Sacramento has been searching for a vet PG. A deal around Deron for Gay + fillers isn't unrealistic.

His value is in the garbage. He has one of the worst contracts in the league, he's fat, and he's a primadonna

This team is SCREWED until all of this trash is off of the books.

his value isnt going to get higher as he gets older and continues to play poorly. It might be at an all time low but its only going to get lower as he continues to suck, we continue to underachieve, and he tweaks his ankle again.

if we can get expirings for him, we should do it without hesitation. remove the cancer this season - clear the books in 2016. win-win

Trade him for am expiring and let's free up cap space. Also get rid of the other bum on this team, Joe Johnson

Joe was playing great without dwill. I think he can get back there once dwill is gone. they just don't work well together. actually dwill doesn't work well with the whole team. I already started a trade dwill topic, I don't know why we needed another one.

I don't think waiting is the right move. waiting will only allow teams to know that he has nothing left. right now they still can think its because he just came back from an injury.

This info came from a groupie site. :o

Coming back from basketball games you hear things. As you know there have been rumors of Jeremy Lin interest from a certain NY team in Brooklyn. A wittle birdie told me, the Nets are weighing making this happen before the deadline. They want a pick added wit Lin and Asik and another player, what would Houston get? Deron Williams.

Why does Brooklyn want to make this happen? they believe Lin has a better upside than Deron. Why else? they know in order to survive in NY, you need a draw, sure they have some fans, but they want more and know you need a young player in this era of business so fans can flock to you. Jeremy Lin who is 25 is their target. They know if they get their hands on him, the media will give MSG and the New York Knicks brand the finger.

Stay tuned y'all this one has legs.. a bigger reason the Nets would do this is for cap flexibility in 2015 and up.

There's one thing halting this. Billy King loves Deron Williams even if he's not the old Deron. That and the current chemistry the Nets have. You've been served.

I mean, not exactly a super reliable source there, but I would LOVE a Deron for Lin+Asik trade. I think everyone would. You have to do that deal if it's on the table.

At least put the rumor out there. At minimum, if nothing else, hopefully it sparks a fire under Deron's ass and he actually starts playing better. Because I can't even stand watching him anymore with the way he's playing now.

I'm sick and tired of Billy/BKN making moves for promotions or stylepoints or giving a finger to anyone... make a **** basketball move for the **** basketball team....

make a move to better the team.... not to make headlines at ESPN... when will this **** learn! (**** = Billy)
