I think we've seen the deal. When IT is that 3rd option that can slide into getting 1st option shot attempts because teams are focusing on Cousins first, and Gay second, he can make teams pay for it. He is not the "man" for a team. He is not a great pick and roll PG (although not that bad) playing with not so great pick and roll bigs. So, if he's going to rack up assists he'll have to handle the ball a lot. That makes him extremely one dimensional and in turn teams can make him work himself into exhaustion as a result. He has to work that much harder to get his own shots and/or create shots for others because a lot his creating shots for others relies on him first creating an opportunity for himself. There is a reason this team is much more dangerous with Cousins and Gay as the focal point. That said, when they've been out there together IT has looked like a perfect sidekick for both of them. I think because of that the Kings need to look at keeping him long term.
