Deng for Bargs/Shump

If Deng wants to come to NY, for the money and Thibs potential.

This team needs a complete rebuild forget that 2015 crap

Suns recieve- tyson, udrih

Knicks receieve okafos expiring, late 2014 1st rounder, plumlee

Let melo walk

Use the suns pick and draft tj warren

Go after bledsoe in free agency

Tank for jahlil okafor next year

Bledsoe
Shump
Tj warren
Tyler
Jahlil

Sixth man hardaway jr

I like this, although I think we can get the WAS pick from them (if Gortat is worth that pick, Tyson is worth more than that). Maybe make it a 3 team deal with Philadelphia where PHX adds Thad Young or Turner and sends additional assets to PHIL.

There also needs to be a follow up trade with Okafor's contract, since insurance pay it use it to give teams cap relief in exchange for picks. Kendrick Perkins in OKC is a perfect example. Turn this contract into 1-3 picks, taking back salary.

Now you enter the offseason with a ton of expiring contracts and picks to package with them to add value. Now your in position to reshape the roster around Melo.

It's called coaching.

Well, I don't quite know what that is. I hear other teams have it though.

The problem with that, do the Cavs think Shump is worth taking on Bargs' second year? They may see value in it as an expiring.

Bargs to Celtics
Green Shump Faverini to Cavs
Deng to NY

Celtics desperate to dump Green b/c they want 2015 cap space
Cavs can't afford to lose Deng for nothing

dream scenario I know

How about this wacky trade?

Melo, Felton for Westbrook, Perkins, and Perry Jones.

Then try to build around the younger guys; Westbrook, Hardaway, Tyler, Shump, Jones, Murry.

Thunder have been winning without Westbrook, and either Melo / Durant turn in to a deadly duo or it doesn't work. It'd be fun to watch what happens lol.

Deng, very unlikely. It would need to be two deals, which makes it harder. And the 2nd deal would require taking bad contracts. Cavs I assume would rather have expirings for, instead of the two year deals NY has.

Deng is unrestricted free agent is I am not mistaken.

As for Kyrie, I agreed. I don't see a reason why the cavs is letting him go.

Maybe Nick Young from Lakers. I like him and have real potential.

Deng is, but from all the reports, he is not resigning with the Cavs. So the only way to make it worth the Cavs while is to give them value and take bad contracts in a separate deal. Cavs would also have to accept a longer contract for Deng's expiring, unless a third team wants to give up expirings.

Something like:

Amare to the Celtics.
Hump to the Cavs.

Wallace and Deng to NY.

That works, but some value would need to be added to give the Cavs a reason to do it.

A follow up example of Bargs for Jack and Clark, would let the Cavs dump Jack's deal.

this would be awesome but only issue is that I think like you said we would have to give an asset to the Cavs. Which would suck if Deng walks. Even if he doesn't walk and we resign, it kills 2015 plan

Grizz get MWP & Udrih
Lakers get Felton & Shump

lol. i've brought it u a couple of times in the last couple of days, everyone's ignored it cause the likelihood is miniscule. I'm personally not so sure about the pairing honestly. though kd could point forward some. I'm not that big of a westbrook fan though back in that 08 draft i was hoping he fell to us.

Chandler and Shump sure would look good on that OKC team instead of Perkins and Thabo. Both their players expire before 2015. If we could get their 2014 & 2016 1st rd picks, that's a solid deal. Maybe with some luck we pry Jackson away.

I think Deng is our best shot. He can actually control where he goes. And he wants all years and dollars to be his.

Phoenix can offer a nice package, but will they offer it to someone who is by no means a star and a questionable 2, that can't even guarantee he'll stay?( remember, we're talking 4yrs/15mil.)especially if they can sign him outright later without losing any assets?

I see a good opportunity for a player who wants to get overpaid but happens to fit in with this team.

Tyson/Kmart
Melo/STAT
Deng/JR
Felton/Timmy
Prigs/Felton

that team can make the playoffs and beat Indiana. if it can't, we let Deng walk.

I think today proved again how badly we need a shut down defender on the wings. Besides that, he's a good scorer and passer. Easily would be our best two way player. So we get our best defender, best passer and #2 option all in one shot.

I agree that Deng would be a huge upgrade... But Shumpert prob wud not be enough for them to take Bargnanis extra year.... Maybe if you replace Hardaway with shumpert and also swap felton/Jack then we are looking at a chance....

P.S we need to fire woodson if we want Tyson and Shumpert going this season... It beginning to look pretty obvious they dont really want to play for Woodson

I want him on the Knicks, but make no mistake, Deng is not a #2(proved this to bulls fans in spades) and he will cost no less than 15mil.

I wouldn't give up Timmy for him.
the hope is that no other team would give anything for Deng knowing he wants to come to NY, so the Cavs would have to take what we offer.
It would be hard enough for me to give up Shump knowing that Deng could walk, but Tim not only is just starting on his rookie scale, but he's a great scoring fit with Melo. Knicks won't be able to find a decent replacement for Timmy at cost, and Deng is an upgrade over Shump.

Having said all that, I can see Dolan being desperate enough to trade Timmy if this deal was actually on the table.

Well if Deng is willing to sign an extenstion i wud not hesitate to include Hardaway Jr in the deal.... But as long as it includes a felton/Jack swap .... A Tyson/Anthony/Deng/Shumpert/Jack team woudl be a nightmare defensively

Let's think about Melo for Lin, Asik and 3 picks.
