I share the same sentiments even though I reside in Orange County, south of L.A. When did Southern California want to emulate the urban sprawl of Chicago and New York? It disturbed me that Irvine started getting high-rise residences and now Los Angeles wants to outdo the Windy City and Big Apple in having the tallest building? It's a race So. Cal never should have participated in. End of my rant.

especially once you count in the fact that NYC and Chicago has a long tradition of efficient public transit, and LA is still in its infancy of its subway railing system. i dunno. i do like high-rises and its urban convenience, but LA doesn't seem to fit that mold at all. the greater LA metro has too wide of areas to cover with underground subway system to be truly useful to most people, there will still be a ton of cars on the road for commute and higher density of population in some of the most crowded parts of LA seems... counterproductive.
hey but what do i care, right? i live in a small town in rural Oregon and if there are 3 cars on the road, they call that a "traffic" around here.

I would assume a bit of loyalty would be taken into account and Collison should get the spot being an important piece even though i suspect him to decline his player option and chase money next year.

you don't need underground subways. those are for people traveling within the city and nearby.
Chicago has the Red, Orange and Bluelines within the city.
then it has the Metra train with less stops to get you in from the furthest suburbs and into the downtown area.
(i truly understand that u just said theyre way more efficient...just saying)
that's what LA needs....more than subways...a Metra-like train that can get ppl from the deep parts of the Valley like Valencia, Ventura...to the places going east like San Bernadino and down to Anaheim so they can have people actually working in the city.
it's honestly a project I think LA should take up...more than that stupid rail on Exposition that runs near my house.
LA was dead...everything cool about it was things that weren't it - Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, ______________ Beach etc. etc.
it's about time we bring more people and their interests back to the city.
oh...
I just wont be there to pay for all these projects. Good luck with that whoever lives there now.
hahaha.

here's a map of Chicago's Metra system.
reaches more than an hour out in each direction.

peep this.
LA transit that died out in the 60s.
not as extensive as the Korean map but solid for people maneuvering the main parts of LA of that time.
I can only assume if we kept this system it would have gotten more extensive as LA shifted its main point of business and entertainment from Central Ave. to what....Hollywood? Beverly Hills? Just not Central Ave. anymore dammit.
