I don't know what to make of Cheeks yet. I thought he was pushing the right buttons to start the year, but I'm disappointed in him now for not making a starting lineup change by now. If not in the frontcourt, at least switching out Chauncey should be obvious by now.

I do think the pieces are here to put together a great rotation, and they have been fortunate that the rest of the East has so been bad too (only 1.5 games out of the 4th seed :o )... but the time is now to start making some adjustments in this rotation/starting lineup while they are still close enough to the pack. He can't wait until we are 10 games out of the playoffs before making some adjustments like Frank. They are still in an ok position, but Cheeks is going to have to start doing something here with this lineup/rotation and players roles before its too late.

But, but Cheeks is a players coach, so the players don't get too upset piling up losses. I mean that was the whole purpose of hiring Cheeks in the first place, wasn't it?

As a former huge fan of Dumars, (let us all down since 2006). I think we need to take a strong look at the man doing the hiring. He's NOT BEEN GOOD. He's really hired DUD after DUD head coaches.

The Fire(d)!!! Mo Cheeks Thread

I thought this thread might be fun to look through. Ah, remember all the high hopes we had for him?

Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

Although they could have saved us a lot of grief by firing him before they hired him in the first place.

Only took a couple month for Cheeks to prove unworthy enough to be fired.

No reason for the Pistons to wait any longer on the Josh Smith at SF experiment either....

I agree. I don't think anyone was every excited about the Cheeks hiring. We all just kind of laid there and took it as best as we could.

Hopefully the next GM will make the right choice, and not just try and cherry pick an assistant off a successful team like Dumars has tried the last three times.

Can't just fire Josh Smith.

It appears the team plays much better with Singler at SF with either Moose or Smooth at PF at points during the game.

Well here's my first take on this.

Gores is ruining the pistons. And will ruin the pistons

His drive for success without patience is his downfall. I hated this owner from the get go. I hate owners who have no patience and make moves. What a douche

Every coach on the league who was able to put a Bynum-Jennings backcourt needs to be fired and forbids him to coach anymore.

i actually liked mo, he was a bad coach but a good guy that got put in a horrible position to coach a couple boneheads and a talentless roster.

granted he made his own fair share of mistakes but it is what it is. heres hoping loyer can figure out a way to get these guys in the playoffs

The team doesn't zero talent. If I had to calculate it on a scale of one to Joe Dumars, I'd give the team a 2.Joe.

I personally like how he start off by saying the pistons just fired Mo cheeks, but then goes on to say the pistons suck without addressing Cheek's firing.

He also took the time to address that his chin was getting hit hard by puberty.
