I dont know why no team in the BPL,Liga, Seria A or even Bundesliga wanted the Brazillian National goalkeeper... Great signing, TFC definitely has my attention this season.

Picking up goalkeepers mid-season isn't done. It really throws off the team. Further to that, goalkeepers aren't the best paid players in soccer. Cesar makes a healthy sum of money, and he's 34. Most teams would rather keep a younger guy making less money in net.

Tfc might be the only one willing to pay his wages, he is making a lot for the quality he brings

I don't think you fully grasp that overrated in Europe, still means an above and beyond goalkeeper in MLS.

He is easily the most experienced keeper in MLS, well worth bringing him here even on a short term loan.

I am not sure why you think Europe equals better. That is lazy thinking. I hate goalies who are prone to let in terrible goals and that is what you have in Cesar. The one position NA has been good at developing is goalies so that is such a weak argument.

Somebody posted on another board that it sounds like Laba will be traded this week.

They are looking to loan him out. I hate to see Laba go. Alongside Henry, he's my favourite player at TFC. Reports are that he is heartbroken about being shipped out.

If he has to leave, I hope it's a loan or a transfer outside of the MLS. I don't want to see Laba suit up for anyone in this league.

Letting in terrible goals is a benchmark of Brazilian goalkeeping. Dida says hi!

With that said, I also believed he was overrated at Inter. But it bears mentioning that he was regarded as a top 5 goalkeeper in the world. He's still a top 20 goalkeeper, nothing to be shrugged at.

If he stays in MLS, I hope it\s out west and part of the deal includes that he can\t play against us.

Personally I would like to keep him close to home. Loan him to Ottawa and let him destroy NASL all summer.

Are you joking about that or is that really possible?

I'm joking. Honestly, I have no idea where he'll end up for the season.

I just know in 1 years time Toronto FC hopes MLS will add another DP spot and he'll be able to return.

I read somewhere that he is not a DP next year which is why we are trying to loan him out.

I read something like this as well. His salary is not a DP salary, but his transfer fee makes him a DP? If that makes sense. :-?

Sadly not much makes sense when it comes to MLS signings especially when they are still adjusting the rules every year.

I wish the rules were clearly laid out, but I think we are a long way off from that happening.

He will remain with TFC for the season.

This will not just be a World Cup warm up for him, and he'll return after it's done.

Wow, I have no idea how TFC is fitting this all under the MLS cap.

Maybe there's a "Starts for Brazil" exception in the CBA?

Is there a CBA? :D
