So basically in your mind - we should've been 16-2 in our last 18 games? Only losing to the two best teams in the league OKC and Indy? Anything less than that is awful?

I did not say, nor did i even come close to implying that anywhere.

what I am saying, and what I stated pretty clearly is that we are not some super hot team right now and we are not playing great basketball right now. We are 6-4 in our last 10 games, and during that span have played some very mediocure and very sloppy basketball.

What we did the first couple weeks in janurary is great. but that isnt how we have played recently. and its not how we have played with Dwill back in the starting lineup. we caught fire during that stretch, we shot an unsustainable percentage on jump shots. those percentages have come back to the norm, and instead of playing great basketball we are now playing average-ish basketball.

we WONT play the rest of the season like we did in nov./Dec.... we are playing at a .600 clip the last 10 games, its likely we play at about that clip the rest of the season. something like 19-14 to close out the year sounds about right, barring some big roster changes via trade.

I dont disagree with this. We play an ugly brand of basketball. Slow pace and all jump shots. But that's what works in the playoffs when the games slow down. We have beaten most of the top teams in the NBA during the new calendar year. During the playoffs getting to the line is vital. Despite his play thus far, Pierce is going to be important in the playoffs because he gets those "special calls".

I guess you missed the posts by trb3 & me in the Paul Pierce Thread the other day.

Except for his 3 point shooting (34%) being several points down from his norm, Paul's shooting in Dec, Jan & Feb has been very solid. His shooting in 11/2013 was disastrous because he played most of the month with an undiagnosed fracture in his shooting hand.

I agree that he will get plenty of calls going to the hoop down the stretch.
SamIam 2010: Truth's ability to play so incredibly efficiently is so UNDERAPPRECIATED. Bballcool 2012: Amazing how great Pierce has been for so long. Continues to defy age! KG 2013: P is original Celtic. Wherever he goes, we go. This is The Truth's house.

will pierce even still be on the team? plus its not just the offense, its the defense, the effort and the intensity. and small ball isnt going to work in the playoffs imo. its not sustainable

There is no way that Paul will be traded. That is preposterous.

Secondly, as trb3 quite accurately pointed out the other day in the Pierce thread, his D, effort & intensity all have very much improved simultaneously with his offense during the last month or so especially.

I DO agree with you that small ball likely will not work & will not be sustainable in the playoffs.

I would love to see the Nets put their hands on Asik somehow.

he has as good a chance as anyone on this team to be traded, and is the most likely of the starters, given his expiring contract. the Pierce/Evans for Boozer/Hinrich deal makes too much sense for both sides for it not to be a consideration.

he is the only player we have that would allow us to take back a high salary player whose contract isnt poisonus to another team.

has a def ratings of 89.4

Allowing less than 90 points per 100 possessions is elite defense. The Pacers have the best defense of the last 37 years, and they’ve allowed 93.9.

are their updated ratings now? is their a rating for our last 10 games?
