That being said, he was beaten pretty badly and only recovered because it was an undersized nonathletic guy, he still looks lost on defense most of the time.

Are you going to tell me he's looked good defensively? He's been blocking more shots over the last month or so but his defense is still pretty awful at this point.

I think like most athletic guys including Josh who used to be a great defender, Andre relies on his athleticism to make up for lapses here & there but to call his defense awful in anyway is borderline comical.

It's one thing to rely on athleticism to make up for lapses but that's really all he has at this point from what I've seen. I do think guys shy away from driving to the hole against us already which is a good sign but it's not just our perimeter D that has us in the bottom of the league defensively.

Its def not 50/50. Our perimeter d is most of the problem, Dre has made up for so many lapses by Monroe & Josh too.

I remind myself that hes 20 & he has a near 7 foot elite defender in his day as his coach right now. I am literally convinced he will become a perennial defensive player of the year candidate very soon.

I'm not questioning his future abilities at all, just think he's further away than you believe I suppose.

im thinking Loyers probably going to shift back to Franks defensive system for the rest of the year since most of the team is familiar with it, which should help. Dre looked better last year than he has this year in whatever you want to call what Cheeks was trying to do on D.

Dre has looked lost at times this season, but considering he's had a moron for a coach, he gets frozen out on offense too often, and our perimeter guys allow more penetration than Jenna Jameson, im going to give him a pass on a lot of it until I see what he can do under a competent coach.
