i know SVG is blunt and all that but I don't remember what exactly he did that was inexcusable? (again, I've tried to block out dwightmare from my memory).

he has a very good knowledge of the game but has a very different style, it might work but it might not. if his style was less controversial I would say SVG would be the clear-cut best candidate to be HC.

Make the playoffs and Loyer has to stay right? Meaning Dumars has to stay.

Miss the play-offs and both are gone and just about anybody would become reasonable with a new respected GM without the Dumars coach carousel baggage.

It doesn't matter what you think Dwight deserved or what it said about him. Van Gundy is paid to act in the best interest of the franchise, and that would have been keeping his mouth shut.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Hollins is my number 1 preference. With the roster as it is we need a proven coach who can win now. Only exception would be Loyer if he can get us into the 2nd round of the playoffs, then I think he'd be in the conversation.

I'm not totally sold on SVG, he's good coach with a good work ethic, but he seems a little too intense.. the kind of guy the players start to tune out after a while. Similar to Doug Collins.

I actually like SVG. He is a guy I'd be willing to take a chance on. We need a guy who can control the locker room. Sad to say but these Pistons babies need to be checked.
