Lebron James face on NBA's Mount Rushmore.

Post#1 » by CWebb2491 » Wed Feb 12, 2014 12:17 am

Lebron James said that he will belong on a hypothetical NBA Mount Rushmore when its all said and done. I love the confidence in that statement. Personally I think he will belong too. I know he wants to be the greatest to have played this game and that is most likely why he is coasting in games against lower teams, to go all out in the playoffs and make his team a dynasty and win as many championships as possible. Luckily we got the best player in the game and the godfather himself in Riley. Here is a link to the article on Lebron below

They should add his face to the real Mount Rushmore.

He's top 10, on his way to at least top 5. Top 4 is hardly a stretch. Top 3 is his ceiling imo, I'm not sure if he can pass Jordan. It would be amazing if he does tho. Russell is beyond reach.

If he keeps winning championships, finals mvps, and season mvps he can challenge Jordan for the GOAT. If riley puts the right pieces around him I can see us winning a couple more championships.

I think Russell is GOAT and no one is challenging him. #2 is Jordan and it'll be great to see LeBron try to bump him. I would love to bump Jordan down my list.

If LeBron consistently is surrounded with title-worthy teams for the next 5-6 years I think 2 titles is the floor. I can easily see him winning another 3 or 4 depending on how his game ages and what Riley puts around him assuming he stays obviously.

Honestly the first step for LeBron to move towards real GOAT level status is to have an incredibly dominant Finals performance (even better than what he did against OKC).

People talk about him leaving but he has a really good situation right here. With Wade handing him the reigns and playing better off the ball with cutting to the rim and scoring when Lebron is on the bench, and Bosh is a perfect fit with his ability to stretch the defense and not cry about his touches. Just as important is having Pat Riley, the man who you can trust to build around you.

Riley himself is a much stronger selling point than Wade at this point. Wade's health is questionable from now on. Riley's genius is not.

Something non-Heat fans will simply never understand.

Being top 4 is but a formality. The guy is already better than a most of the people in the top 10 and most people know it.

A Mount Rushmore for athletes would be nothing but an insult. They're not that great.

Taking it in context. Mount Rushmore of NBA, is another way of saying top 4, eloquently.

Can we stop pushing players down the all time list just to heighten Lebron's prestige? I hold previous generational players in reverence and think it's kind of disparaging to have this conversation before Lebron has even finished his career. There are a lot of great players who've played over the years, and I'm not eager to kick them to the curb so quickly.

He said at the end of his career. And sorry not sorry LeBron is better than a lot of those greats

Kareem, I can see. But Shaq no. Unless you're talking peaks, in which case he's at the top. I'm talking about entire careers. 11 rings in 13 years, best defensive player ever, anchored the greatest dynasty in sports. Stood toe to toe with Wilt. I really don't see any way to top that.

Lebron is easily top 10.

And will eventually make top 4 if he can stay healthy and keep doing what he's doing. And who knows maybe challenger Jordan for the #1 spot.

In fact my top 10 goes like:

Jordan
Kareem
Russell
Magic
Bird
Wilt
Duncan
Shaq
Lebron
Kobe

Another finals MVP shoots him in contention with Duncan for top 7 IMO.
