don't like the Yankees.
don't like Jeter....oh how could you not blah blah blah...i don't like em and i don't care what you think.

but I respect him.
He took over at SS when I was 6 or 7....so i don't even know the sport of baseball without him at SS for the Yanks.
game will be different without him.

over rated

super star in his prime, yes. but theres a lot of those around. he's just not a GOAT that he is being made. He is a yankee, any other team and he is far less.

Not GOAT, just outlasted all his competition. Nomar, Tejada and A-Rod. He's rightfully the best shortstop of his generation.

My all time favorite MLB player. Haters gonna hate, calling him overrated, but he was the best(or one of the central pieces)of a dynasty and is one of the best all around SSs ever.

And then of course, his list of sexual conquests. :D

Well no shame in not being a top 5 Yankee, that franchise is loaded. I think he'd be 5th after Ruth, Gehrig, Dimaggio, and Mantle, at least that's what Tim Kurkijan said on the radio the other day and Kurkijan is about as knowledgeable about baseball as anyone.

As far as playing on a stacked team...I don't think you can use that against him. Magic Johnson and Larry Bird played on stacked teams, does that take away from their greatness? Or Joe Montana and Troy Aikman? And like I said, Jeter was the best player on those teams. It wasn't like he was just along for the ride.

question.

are we really going here or not?
I can give you an answer.
I'd rather just leave my portion of his retirement thread to jabbing him. I don't really wanna get into any substance

Can't call a player overrated when they ran a sport for the better part of 12 years.
