Eric Gordon, Josh Smith , and Larry Sanders are the only starting caliber players on that list.
We shouldn't have to give anything up besides Bargs for Gordon or Josh. Those teams are just trying to get rid of those contracts.
Larry Sanders is worth his contract, but he's basically a PF that can play C. He's the bizzaro Jeremy Tyler.

Would you guys do Amare Stoudemire for Eric Gordon and Tyreke Evans?

NY gets a starting pg and a starting PF
DET gets to correct their off season mistake and get out of Smith's contract. They also get a young SG for Stuckey who they probably will not resign.

2015 blah blah we either go all out or lose Melo in the off season(we are not trading him) and be in a worse then ever situation with no picks and no star player.

So detroit gets out of there mistake but then we take on that mistake ?

Their mistake was signing him and trying to make him a SF...I'm sure they'd rather keep their young bigs and say what you want he's an upgrade over any PF we have specially on the defensive side.

I was throwing this trade around in my head the past few days --- one of the few J-Smith fans on the board.

It's possible we might also be able to get a pick if Detroit is desparate enough to free up cap space.

Next move - trade Chandler for a legit PG.

I'd rather the J-Smith/R-Stuckey proposal vs and already often injured Gordan and Tyreke.

Since we are talking about J-Smith.

For sh*ts and giggles --- would Detroit do a.......

Melo for Smith/Stuckey and 2 1st round picks?

For us we only take on 3 years of Josh at $14M --- rather than 5 years of Melo at $25m(?) and we get 2 1st round picks.

Me personally --- I think J=Smith compares favorably to Melo in everything except scoring and Smith can play his natural 4 position and hold his own ---- rather than what we have to do with Melo playing small.

I dont think Smith is a good addition to this team though
Stucky isnt great either but hes an upgrade over the garbage we have

Josh Smith is too selfish and dumb to play here and hed be a cancer for this team like he was in Atl and like he is in Det

How about Eric Gordon and Tyreke Evans for Chandler, Felton, Shumpert and Artest?

Im against trading Chandler as I think he is our only hope for defense. Im dead set against it if were not adding any interior defense in return

I know everyone is down on Chandler these days but he is our 2nd best player and well worth his contract
Adding a couple one on one players and shedding our only big man defender, besides Kmart who is gone after this year, is crazy IMO

I would do Bargs in that deal instead of Chandler though!

haven't paid that much attention to Tyreke since his rookie season. Is he that much of an upgrade who just needs a chance?

He has an elite handle and finishing ability around the rim. he can also really pass, but no one is willing to give him a starting pg position b/c I don't think he's good enough.
he can't shoot to save his mother's life, so he's hasn't been able to hold down a starting shooting guard role.
He got paid b/c of his positive attributes and is grossly overpaid b/c of his negaative attributes.

there is an outside chance he might work with Melo--but that contract is too big of a risk.

i would probably do either of those. it's funny how stephenson ended up being what everyone thought evans would be. maybe he can still turn into that.

I really wouldnt mind Josh Smith. Wanted him earlier in the season.

Josh Smith is playing out of position in DET. Play him at PF and his numbers will resemble his stats he put up in ATL. I doubt we get him but a Bargnani +Shump or Tim Hardaway and maybe a 2018 protected 1st is probably what we would offer.

J-Smoove can be what Shawn Marion was for the 2011 Mavs. I also would like to believe if he was moved back to PF he woul stop taking 3s. Good defender and passer for a man his size. If we get him, all we would need is a PG that can defend, attack the rim effectively every once in a while and hit the 3 at an above average clip.

Id stay away from Smith
Gordon is the best player in that mix but his health is suspect, and thats all we need
Evans is intriguing but hes been such a disappointment
I dont think Sanders goes anywhere
Id be shocked to see McGee get traded but hed be my top pick depending on what it costs. Tyson for McGee Id do, again if hes not broken

if mills trades for mcgee and we're not getting our 2014 back, he's a **** hack. he should be fired, hired again, only to be fired again. he'd deserved to get fired twice.

as far as josh smith, **** no.

Melo aint stayin for this and if he goes this team might win five games next year.

Mills and Dolan needs to make a move. THJ is back on the table for me. He's showing some signs of some serious slippage and his defense makes Felton blush.

Return to New York Knicks
