I like Steve Nash... I also like Kobe Bryant... But these video retrospective things they do before they actually retire bug the hell out of me... They are both still playing and collecting their money... There's nothing to get sappy about just yet... To me it seems a little disrespectful.

I also like Jeter... I promise we're literally hours away from on on him too...

idk if you're Steve this is one way to fend off some of the distaste we feel surrounding his contract and what we gave up and what we are getting out of him. I empathized greatly with this. I mean, I was already sympathetic of his plight and never thought he was just screwing us out of money intentionally or anything, but I liked it.

^I agree, great video. Along with the article, it showed some great insights into the eventual divergence of body and mind, when the mortal coil betrays the soul. A bit transcendent.

And a reminder of what the game means to different people. A humble guy who worked tirelessly to be able to compete, for love of the game.

HIs heart is so pure.

I'll say this. I'd rather see Nash and Kobe make it back on the floor and end their careers with dignity, then for us to chase Lebron or Melo.

Lebron's recent comments about kicking NBA greats off the top of the mountain? What a clown. He'd be a disgrace in purple and gold.

In the end, I think being a Laker means more than just banners and rings, although we as fans certainly get caught up in the abundance of success. But it's as mercenary as Lebron's self-glorification and chasing rings.

The purple and gold, a badge of honor.

And that old warrior is worthy of our respect.

Agreed, Miles, but the problem is it's become such an improbability that Nash will get a chance to end his career with dignity (and play with Kobe) that it's more just hard to watch.

Respect the guy and would love to see the old dogs get their day...but man if it doesn't happen and we keep him it's going to be another train-wreck of a year.

The question is: will it be worth it to risk 4 disappointing years in a row for something so unlikely?

man .. guy is on a verge of tears in that video. i feel so bad for him. damn that leg injury against blazers, he could be the old nash for us until the end, i believe it. real class act with kobe-like work ethic.

I'm a huge fan of Nash, but I really don't know why people are feeling sorry for him. He's 40, and it's borderline impossible to play at a high level in the NBA at that age. Injured or not, he isn't even a top 20 PG anymore, not in this league, which is filled with insanely athletic PG with killer instinct.

Now if these injuries happened to him in his mid 30's, it'd be a different story.

As a Steve Nash fan, it was hard to watch. You feel for him. You can see he knows its pretty much over. It's especially sad, since it was a freak injury and not because his age per se. For your team, hopefully some of the young players can watch him (and Kobe) and emulate their heart and work ethics.

Cool documentary, I feel for Nash. But really if he wants to help us he should retire and just resign for a cheaper contract. We'll still let him play if he can, that's not a problem, but so far it's his contract that's like holding the team into hostage.

Nonetheless, I got mad respect for Nash!

P.S we should fire D'antoni and make Nash a playing coach! 8-)

You know we don't have our own pick next year right? The tank will self destruct after the last game of the season. There is no way in hell I want Nash back next season... Look at where he is physically and the grind of on NBA season. He cannot take up cap space and only play the first of back to back games! He was a great player that defied logic but this is extreme!

If Nash retires I would like him to stay with us and work with our PG. Blake learned some things from him, Farmar could learn, Marshall could learn, or whoever is gonna be our PG next year

Marshall has taken Nash's stiff arm one handed layup, so Nash is contributing in other ways.

Signing Nash was a bad gamble on the court, but that doesn't change the fact that Nash is a class act, the league's best teammate, a brilliant basketball mind, a great example and leader, and a warrior.

Again, people can cry and bitch about it, but what's done is done, and I'm glad he's helping our team in some ways and being a good story.
