Even though it shouldn't be this way, this is the type of thing that could really turn the MVP race back into a very close two man race. LeBron has an epic game right before the All-Star break in a road win over a playoff team without Wade, while Durant lays a big fat egg against one of the worst teams in the league in a loss.
Said in a thread about which point guards would make OKC better if they replaced Westbrook:

OKC's youth is really showing through in this game. KD's off and the rest of them are on casual mode. Mentally, a lot of the Thunder players 'already have their bags packed' to go on vacay. Humbling experience for them. Wonder if Durant can flip the switch and steal this game for them anyway?

Maybe, but I'd argue this looks like a classic trap game for OKC. This game is sandwiched between a big game vs PDX this week and the ASB, which screams letdown game, exacerbated by the game being in LA and the team being so very young.

Though if anybody holds this game against KD, they'd also have to hold that Utah stinker against LBJ on Sunday.

Durant has 29/8/6 right now. Sure it's on below 50% shooting, but let's not pretend this is Lebron vs Utah or anything. His teammates are terrible

Who woulda thought that in 2014 Derek Fisher would be the more productive player between he and Kobe? Who was really the leader of those backcourts?

This is why its always important to watch the games. Durant's raw numbers will make it look like he had a great game when he was awful throughout.

Lakers are blatantly throwing this. Id call for an nba investigation to confiscate their pick.
