That's the problem. You're asking Cleveland to pay around $14m next year just to get Shumpert. That's a very bad idea. Deng is worth a crappy expiring and a 1st or 2. Or a bad contract as filler? It'd probably take Hardaway and Shumpert, since you can't include any 1sts.

So this is Bargs, Shumpert, & Hardaway for Deng?
That seems doable from both sides, but even as an expiring next year Bargs is real tough to take.

responses are reasonable.
yes, Bargs/Shum/Timmy is a package Knicks would trade for Deng( and maybe Waiters). those are at least a decent starting point to a trade.
While Deng is worth more than this, Cavs have a problem--if indeed Deng is going to walk and your FO knows that-- the only teams that the Knicks have to bid against are teams willing to give Deng 4yrs/$15mil(an overpay).
If I'm not mistaken, you guys gave up some assets for Deng, and would want an asset or two back in lieu of just lettiing him walk.
waiters isn't a throw in

We should really try trade miles and Varejao to Okc. They'd win a championship and they have the asstes to throw back to us.

I don't think he meant a throw in of Waiters. I read it as they would trade Shump and Hardaway in a deal for Deng, or Waiters.

You'd probably have to take back Perkins to make a deal work fiscally/legally. That could really throw a wrench in it.

Well i think that's just more incentive for them to give up more assets. Giving up Andy and taking on Perk should net a pretty decent return. They'd be so good with Varejao instead of perk.

I didn't mean that either. I would pick both Shump and Timmy over Waiters. What i meant was an expanded trade.

sorry, I've seen too many people trying to poach Waiters or Thompson as if they were 2nds, usual reaction

Would Cleveland consider a Chandler, Bargs, Shump for Deng, Varejeo, Waiters swap?

it's okay, the best of us get fooled from time to time. Look on the bright side, at least your team is a title contender, I have to watch a team that celebrates a four game win streak

That exchange with Timmy and waiters was pretty great in an otherwise terrible game

And people say laker fans are unrealistic. Lol

He wants to unload two crap contracts and an overrated underachiever for a starting SF who comes off the books and get a starting pf/c and a good sg prospect. LMFAO

you forgot the part where since he's Knicks fan, will have no trouble throwing in all eligible firsts they have until 2030, unprotected.

Salary filler (please include your back up PG) and that NY 2016 pick should do it.
