So this is my first proposal, hope I don't get flamed too much

I don't like multi-team trades, nonetheless I'll give it a try.

New York Knicks
In: Luol Deng
Out: Iman Shumpert, Andrea Bargnani

Cleveland Cavaliers
In: Iman Shumpert, Ben Gordon (expiring)
Out: Luol Deng

Detroit Pistons
In: Andrea Bargnani
Out: Josh Smith

Charlotte Bobcats
In: Josh Smith
Out: Ben Gordon

Why for the Knicks: The Knicks finally get their perfect SF for playing Smallball. They also get rid of Bargani, which opens playtime for Tyler.

Why for the Cavs: They know Deng won't resign, so they'll try to get some assets. Shumpert can either play the 3, or the 2, which makes Dion Waters expendable for another trade.

Why for Detroit: They finally get rid of Josh Smith. More touches for Monroe and Drummond. With Bargnani they are getting a viable Backup Center, whose contract expires 2 years before Josh Smith.

Why for the Cats: They get their upgrade at the 4. Josh Smith tightens their defense, and also gives them another offensive Option compared to McRoberts.

Who says no? The Knicks obviously say yes, and I think the Cavs do so, too. Detroit might want more for Smith, but I don't think his toxic contract has any value in the league. They might prefer to look for a SF to replace him tho. Smith in Charlotte could work, since he would become the 3rd Option on Offense, which means he wouldn't chuck this much. And as mentioned before, he would be a huge upgrade on the defensive end over McRoberts.

I know the chance of resigning Deng is not that big. Nonetheless I'd give it a try, because he its too good of a fit next to Melo. Many of you (me included) don't want to take any salary for 2015. But I think a player of Dengs quality is definitely worth it, especially if there's a chance of signing him for less than he wanted with the Bulls.

Yep this is an awesome deal. Somewhere someone might have to get a pick or two to grease the wheels. I've been wishing for a guy like Deng or Iggy to come here all season. 20/5/5 with all world defense is worth dipping into the 2015 cap space. Personally, I'd rather have a few more guys who make in the 12-14 range instead of swinging for the fences on a 20 mil guy. This is a step towards that goal. Iggy signed for 48 / 4 yr - Deng should get the same amount.

Awesome for the Knicks. In addition to Cleveland needing considerable sweetener, Detroit accepts $11M or Bargnani for Shumpert instead of Gordon and a draft pick? Doubtful. We continue to overvalue Shumpert. He's athletic and can play great defense but Detroit needs a shooting guard that can shoot and a small forward that can also defend and shoot. I would guess that the Knicks might be simply cut out of this deal with Detroit and Charlotte both attempting to acqyuire Deng as adding Smith to Charlotte gives them a front line that also can't shoot.

They trade in Thomas Robinson for a much better version of himself in Kenyon. Prigioni is a great 5th guard for them and can run the show offensively when Lillard or Mo will plays off guard.

Why for NY- a young point guard prospect who has the look and feel of the new generation of point guards in this league. Knicks are not winning a shop in next 2 years and that's Chandlers window. Sell him while you can.

Robin Lopez is actually having a better season than Tyson Chandler, is 6 years younger and paid less than half as much as Chandler. And Chandlers defense hasn't exactly been good this season. This would be a steal for the Knicks.

Barganani for Josh Smith straight up is something that might be realistic. It's basically a salary dump for the Pistions as Bargs deal expires 2 years earlier than Smith.

In the above mentioned trade the Bobcats would either trade Gordon's expiring and the Portland pick for Deng or do a Gordon for Smith trade straight up. But assuming the Bobcats, or any other team with an expiring, are not interested in Smith, moving him for a guy with one year left on his deal is the 2nd best option if they chose to go that way.

From the Knicks perspective, i'm not sure my throughts on Smith. On a positive note he has the size and athleticsm to guard both 3's and 4's and defensivly is a perfect fit next to Melo. However, he can't shoot and has a questionable IQ and attittude. Not sure I would roll the dice on this if i'm the Knicks.

Having said that i'm pretty confident that Smith and Jennings will both end up on the Knicks roster at some point.

Robin Lopez is actually having a better season than Tyson Chandler, is 6 years younger and paid less than half as much as Chandler. And Chandlers defense hasn't exactly been good this season. This would be a steal for the Knicks.

Tyson's just getting back healthy. Tyson has a proven track record as a difference making defender on a championship team. Lopez is an average starting center. Portland, Pheonix, Dallas, Charlotte are all teams that are looking to make moves that would benefit from adding Tyson Chandler.
