Hey  We might as well clean this place out and Let Melo go after Lebron

Could you imagine a core of:

Lebron
Melo
Hibbert
THjr

add Chalmers and a ton of vets

i really cant imagine this......it may be legal, but it goes against the spirit of the agreement.

ok im not gunna kill you for thinking you can get LBJ. or Hibbert for that matter. when a player of LBJ's level is a FA i think every team from MIL up the latter has to at least do due diligence and as least inquire. with that said, we also have to be careful not to lose any assets for something thats very very unlikely to happen.
There's something about an underdog that really inspires the unexceptional.

ok, I saw 5 mil ...his cap hit is 7 with a 5% kicker via trade.

good point...maybe we'd have to include a pick- oh well...

There is a much better plan, and you dont have to do any of this....

Melo opts IN and recruits LeBron in 2015 as he has an opt out in both years....and all the space needed is free and clear.

Lebron hasnt really indicated he planned on opting out at all after this season....no guarantee he does.

keep in mind. If I'm the front office- I would ask Melo to call his close friend Lebron and ask him if we get 40 million under the cap would he form the new big two with the big three in mind for 2015. These two guys have been playing against each other for 15 years and have a very close friendship.

I hear ya but you know the knicks have the silliest pockets- the rules don't apply - especially if it nets you Lebron and Melo playing together...

doesnt save you money, and unless you need cap space immediately you rather just regular release or amnesty(if you can) a player.
Most bad contracts up to now have been amnestied, going forward they might be stretch released.

Hey look
I can use the trade checker to conjure up a crazy scenario where every GM in the league takes all our contracts and we can be under the cap with no talent and almost no notable free agents to sign

It's that fun?

San Antonio has 4 PG's we should be looking at them if we want immediate help.
Shump + Beno + Aldrich & future 2nd for Cory Joseph & Jeff Ayres. Why does Pop say no?

Udrih to Charlotte for Jeff Taylor

Charlotte is looking for some deep shooting help, Udrih gives them some as a backup PG

Knicks get rid of Udrih who has had problems with Woodson. Taylor is no all star but he is a talented player to bring off the bench. Taylor plays SF or SG and is very cheap. Knicks need a couple of talented bench guys on the cheap.
