Several times this season, during interviews, Hawks players would mention “daily vitamins” as part of their routines. I assumed they literally meant a vitamin regime.

Daily vitamins have nothing to do with supplements. They are, in fact, a major part of the Hawks’ player development system. It is the term used for the daily one-on-one time that assistant coaches work with an individual player. Under the system, different assistants are assigned a group of players.
Wonderful to think that, if we acquire a talent, we'll DEVELOP HIM. 2/3rds into the season, during a lull, it's good to read something so - what're the words I've been using? - oh, yeah, competent and professional.
I realize (now) that Marvin Williams' problems were caused by a chronic bad back, but could you imagine if Mike Woodson had had the sense to do this with Marvelous, Josh Smith, Acie Law, Jeff Teague, Josh Childress, even Salim Stoudemire*?
*Depressingly long list, huh? I coulda mentioned more, of course.
