no. dolan let him walk because he felt betrayed that lin went back to the rockets for a better deal. i don't think melo really cared all that much.

Eh...I think the wheels were in motion to let Lin go before he got the second offer from Houston.

which he's always been terrible at when it comes to basketball. the decision to let him walk was a bad decision.

pretty sure he was just there for the ribs. either way, we probably could have had them both. i think.

We definitely could have had them both. But he was telling people he was coming back since then. Couple that with his agent telling people that Ray was promised the starting job and us already striking out on Nash. It seems that the writing was on the wall for Lin before Houston.

Business decisions and basketball championship decisions are two different things. We can say whatever we want about Dolan but the NY Knicks are the most valuable franchise in the NBA. Credit Dolan...if he felt lin would add value to his goals he wouldn't not sign the guy because of something personal...

re-signing him wouldn't have been contradicted either of those things.kneega wrote:

credit for what? for having the league force donnie walsh down his throat ? having donnie clear capspace to go all for lebron james? he gets credit for being frumpy and **** the bed with his power point presentation.

I'm not even sure what this is supposed to mean. you think he's some business genius? he owns THE basketball team in the media capital of the world in one of the most hollowed arenas world wide. even when the team was an abomination they were still valued highly. that has jack to do with his business acumen.
when he let lin walk, he was still that rich kid trying to buy his way into the cool kids table.

Dolan never has an offer for Lin. Lin is always a backup. He was going after Nash. Look at the great players he signed before Lin: Kidds, Felton, Camby, Thomas, Prigi and I forgot who else.

with the exception of kidd, lol at that list. lin was how old when he let him walk? 21? few players are at their best at age 21.

Lin never went back to Rockets for a better deal. There was only one offer from Rockets. They said we're gonna offer Lin this amount, and when they saw him, they offered him a higher amount. Melo is leaving NY anyway...I can feel it in my bones

Andre Miller wants out of Denver badly. According to "a source," the situation is "irreparable" and that Miller is waiting with his bags packed.

A trade of Felton and Artest for Miller works according to the trade checker. Miller's $5M contract expires at the end of the season.

Andre Miller Has No Interest In Returning To Nuggets' Lineup
Feb 16, 2014 11:49 AM EST
Andre Miller has no desire to return to the Denver Nuggets.
The Nuggets were attempting to bring Miller back to the team after more than a month in which they were unsuccessful in trading him away.
"The vibe is delusional," the source said. "It's a burned bridge. No reconciliation. He's waiting by the door with his bag already packed. The relationship is irreparable. Under no circumstances does he want to come back to Denver.
"Andre hasn't spoken about the situation. He's being quiet out of goodwill."
Miller has been working out daily at the Nuggets' practice facility, but mostly at night away from the team.
Brian Shaw also has no interest in bringing Miller back.
Miller's camp hopes the Nuggets can still find a suitable trade before the deadline.
A trade of Felton and Artest for Miller works according to the trade checker. Miller's $5M contract expires at the end of the season.

I have a question would how would yall feel about a trade for Josh Smith
for example trading Bargs/Shump or Amare for him
He is a better version of shump correct? I know his contract sucks but a a lineup of Pags/thjr/smith/melo/chandler on paper would we tough to defend and should be good enough on D.
