Yeah

Frankfurt was really weak yesterday. Veh basically handed the 3 points to Klopp well before the game.

Left out Zambrano, Rode and Joselu/Kadlec on purpose. Played Weis, Madlung and Lanig. Of course you are getting destroyed then.

At least he could've given Kempf a start if he was planning to lose anyway. Not exactly a confidence boost if you give away the last game before the knockout stages in the EL. Porto will most likely beat them anyway, though. Better team.

Didn't he do basically the same against Bayern? You should at least try to win games

The 11-man HSV executive board wants to install Slomka and then collectively step down :o

On a related note, the ZDF is thinking about pushing "Wetten Dass" to Wednesday evening to boost the ratings. Why is it related? You make the connection. 8-)

That would be the best move HSV has made this century.

Good win for Nurnberg. Gives them another boost in the relegation race.

Even as a Hertha fan, I still think it's better for the BL if Gladbach and Wolfsburg (or maybe Leverkusen if they keep losing) make it to the EL. They are way better teams than Hertha, Mainz or Augsburg and I'm sure they would represent our league in a good way.

I could see Hertha falling apart just like Freiburg this year because they wouldn't be able to handle the situation playing in the BL and the EL.

I wouldnt go that far not to mention Adler is struggling as much as everybody else on the team, theirs some quality their to the point where they should finish mid-table, they did have a terrible summer though, losing one of the brighter prospects in the bundesliga in Son and not using even a fifth of that money to fix the squad, his replacement was simply some guy that played under fink in Basel (Zoua) the rest of the money was used terribly didnt bring in a good ball winning midfielder at all, so we saw that Arsalan-Badelj partnership which gets cut to pieces defensively, their defensive reinforcements suck Sobiech is terrible as is Djourou.....theirs some good players that will be valuable moving forward as they look to avoid relegation, but their is alot of dead-weight Rajckovic, Manceinne, Jiracek, and some players who are on big wages (for HSV standards) playing on reputation like Adler in his current form and Westermann who has been terrible, if I were HSV id also dangle VdV at some European clubs to see if they could get some cash for him that way they can also get his wages off the books

Jansen, Diekemeir, Tah, Beister, Tah, Calhanoglu can stay everyone else dont let the door hit you on the way out, hell let them go back to what they were using years back recruit Bayern rejects, and get younger players from the Eredivise and sell em for a healthy profit

The problem with Augsburg, Hertha and Mainz is that they don't have enough money to spend on the 22 quality players needed to participate in the EL & Bundesliga. :dontknow:

We have 7 spots in Europe so if the 7th team fails in the group stages it's not a big deal if you ask me. :dontknow:
Although, I don't really want to participate in the EL since you can't earn much money and will likely do a lot worse in the Bundesliga (like Frankfurt & Freiburg this season).

Exactly!

If you don't have a shot at winning the EL, there is nothing good about participating.

Playing games in Azerbaijan? No, thanks.

Not for the 7th Bundesliga team. The likelihood they even make it to the final is below 1%.

my bad meant in general for german teams in the EL next season, since Hamburgs two semi finals appearance and Werder losing in the final to Shaktar they really seemed to not have given a **** and rightfully so, the prize money is incredibly lousy to the CL, while the herthas, Augsburgs wont be getting far in EL play sides like Gladbach, and Wolfsburg could have incentive to take the EL more serious next season, especially wolfsburg with their spending power could be realistic contenders of course alot depends on how things are going in the league next season

Slomka wants to lead Hamburg back to a top 5 position.

Well, he has an awful lot of work to do in the next few years then.

well, they were actually giving a ****. but either
- they were just not good enough (hanover just can't bang with atletico)
- or they lost their best 2, 3 or even 4 players the same summer they qualified for the competition (mainz, freiburg, gladbach)
- or they were just not tough-nosed enough (leverkusen lost all four games against villarreal and benfica in 2011 and 2013, in 3 of those 4 games they were the better team...)

wolfsburg could be promising, yeah. but their manager is mediocre at best. it doesn't make much sense to invest big money into your squad and then go with somebody like hecking. it's like the mancini-situation at city, just on a lower scale.

I actually think Hecking is doing a very good job.

I actually think Hecking is doing a very good job.

he's a mediocre BL manager.
managers in the BL that do a better job than him: guardiola, klopp, hyypiä, favre, tuchel, luhukay, weinzierl, slomka (bad season but overall better). + streich - achieved more with freiburg last season than hecking in his entire career. + verbeek - jury still out on him, but nuremberg play some excellent football at times, overall great impact.
hecking never did something special in his entire career.
Wake up, girl. I wanna go surfing.
