my personal opinion is that the guys that do enter are too focused on trying to be creative and do new dunks (fuelled by pressure from fans) instead of going out and just putting down dunks that look nice. look at steve francis putting down a simple one-handed lob off a bounce, it looked awesome. even desmond mason doing a simple one-handed leaning dunk looked nice.

some people I've talked to agree with me, some don't about George's 360 through the legs not looking very nice. it's obviously a difficult dunk to do but the spin wasn't really smooth at all and he didn't put a lot of power into it, it didn't get me excited in the slightest. I think his nicest dunk of the night was the one at the very end of the freestyle round, he got good elevation, cocked it back and just put it down clean and hard. I think mclemore had one the better dunks in the contest (in the freestyle round) and it was the same story as George's, just a simple one handed lob that had great elevation and extension that was put down clean and hard.

I think LeBron would be awesome in the contest because he puts down all his dunks with so much power and he puts them down cleanly. that's why they look so awesome in games. if he entered he would be a joy to watch, not because he blew our minds with some unseen dunks, but with dunks that look sweet as hell. unfortunately, he would get massacred by skip bayless and co. for disappointing with boring, unimaginative dunks. that's why he hasn't and probably never will enter.
