Countdown to the deadline

Post#1 » by jbk1234 » Thu Feb 13, 2014 10:45 pm

Not sure if the Mod will think this belongs under the trade thread. If so, please move don't lock.

Which realistic target do you hope the Cavs land at the deadline and which one will you cringe if the Cavs acquire?

For me I hope they get Asik and I'll have a date with Dr. Jamison if they acquire Turner.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

I think the winning streak makes a big trade a lot less likely. Would love to get rid of Jack. If we're winning they might keep Deng.

They've said they aren't going to be sellers, but that's a tricky word in the NBA. Its not like Baseball where you can just dump money at will at this point in the season.

I'm optimistic that they'll only make deals that help them longer term. I don't think they'll undermine this season though. That said, I think if Deng is moved its going to be for a player under contract for a while.

Cleveland, Denver interested in trading for Pierre Jackson

NEW ORLEANS – The Denver Nuggets and Cleveland Cavaliers are inquiring about trading for Idaho Stampede point guard Pierre Jackson of the NBA Development League, a league source informed CSNNW.com.

At the current time, the New Orleans Pelicans, who own Jackson’s rights, have not been approached with a deal to their liking, another source explained.

No need with Irving, Waiters, Jack, and Delly all on the roster.. Does that mean a trade is coming or are the Cavs just doing their diligence in case they are able to pull one off?

My favorite part of the year. I've been less than impressed with Deng. I think it would be huge if we can flip either him or Andy along with a future first for Harrison Barnes, basically a younger, healthier, more athletic version of a Deng type player.

Also, not sure if you keep both Bennett and Tristan long term. I think you either have to eventually put Tristan at Center and make Bennett the starting PF, or move one of them in a deal for a legit center.

Ohh, and Jack should be gone, he is useless to us. His contract is kinda bad though so easier said than done.

Well trades cant go through before the All-Star game finishes during All-Star weekend, but it doesnt mean that you cant hear rumblings, right?

I'd swap Jack for just about anything. I've just seen Jack for Terry, which I would do.

I like the Jack to Denver Rumor better.

NBA Trade Rumors: Cavaliers could trade Jarrett Jack to Nuggets?

Would the guard short Nuggets take Jack and his two more guaranteed years as he prospered in their kind of game in Golden State? The Cavs could bring back Andre Miller to where he started in 1999 and end his banishment. Plus, his contract expires. The Nuggets add in someone like Jordan Hamilton.

Well since this was posted on Twitter it should be fair game now, although I have no idea who Russell Williams is.. This was the deal that I thought was going down a couple of days ago:

Russell Williams ‏@Cavs247dotcom 2h

Been hearing rumbles of Lakers/Nets/Cavs possible 3-way deal involving Jack, Terry, and Gasol, sources mentioned. #Cavs

I dont think it's "on" as of right now, but wouldnt be surprised if some variation ends up resurfacing...
